I ordered, from Cyclopes, the led headlight replacement package that they now offer. From the looks of things the product is well thought out and should make a major improvement in the amount of light one will have at night. I try not to ride, at night, but I live where there are a lot of deer, etc. Anything I can do to help keep me from hitting one of the is worth the money. If you mention this site they give you a discount price.

Literally 2 minutes - the H&B skid plate mounts to three brackets which take a little time to install the first time, but once it's mounted taking it off for an oil change takes no time.
I was also pleased to find that despite a mild off road crash that left me sliding on the skid plate and scuffing it up a little, it wasn't bent at all and still a breeze to remove for the oil change
Have the Hepco & Becker skid plate installed as well. I wanted to hear from others that had it installed if they also found it as easy as advertised.

The new Caribou top case has been driving me a bit crazy with noise when the going gets rough. Just a noisy setup that does not inspire confidence.

I believe I've narrowed it down to a couple of sources. First is the different style of latch that I've never had in the past. This top case has a two part latch. One part is a loose finger lever that I assume is there for leverage on the other part doing the work. I think I'm hearing those loose levers flipping back and forth.

In an attempt to quiet them I've glued a section of the Adventure MotoStuff grip covers (like grip puppies, but far better quality) so they will block the level in the up position.

Also found some noise spots under the plate. Attempting to cushion those with pieces of grip covers, too.

Hey Mr. Pete, I dodged plenty of those critters in northern MN/WI/MI two weekends ago, so Very interested in your experience. Is below (link) what you ordered, and do you anticipate installation to be plug and play, including reassembly of the covers that seal the back of the OEM headlight assembly? I haven't been in to the headlight assembly, but planning to ride the Black Hills in a few weeks so this would be a valuable addition to the Rigid SR6, if a quick installation is achievable. Thanks for posting!

I'm not Mr Pete, but that link is not the Super Ten kit, it's the generic 3000 lumen kit.

The Super Tenere specific kit is This One and is 6000 lumen, probably because you're getting two 'bulbs'.

I was wondering about that, I don't think you add light sources together for a total, it's just two lights doing 3000. What do I know though...

Gave her a wax job!!!

Wax? What is that vile substance?

I have something named Canuba for the show bike, but the tenere starts itself and runs away if that jar comes near it!

Today I did a local ride but experience my first hard start. Perplexing as I can't provide any possible cause. WOT worked though and I went for coffee. ::001::

I'm looking forward to a fairly short (3 hour each way) trip to New Mexico this weekend, so adjusted the suspension, mounted the panniers, tank bag and added my AirHawk seat.

Hey EricV, When installing the new "bulb", where do you stuff all the extra wire that comes with the LED bulb??

TIA
Good question. I don't have the kit, so don't know if you can trim some of it, or if it's going to be a matter of bundling it up and zip tying it somewhere. On HID conversions in the past, I've been able to shorten some parts, others needed to remain un-cut and just had to be tucked and tied away.

I'm looking forward to reading about someone else's install and what they thought of the kit.

There's room in there to tuck. I did my own harness recall, lots of space left.

Great Success ::012::

Rode about 2k miles 2 weekends ago and then another 1700 miles last weekend (Big Sky Rally) and went over 40k miles on the 2012 so decided to do some maintenance.

So... I washed the bike. Well, rinsed it off with pressure water anyways. Good for another year.

Then replaced the brake pads. A LOT easier than I thought and no bleeding required. First time ever. Rear was really easy. Wear was actually kinda minimal but I'll feel better with new pads on and good for another 40k miles. Discs look and feel good.

Air filter and spark plugs next. Yuck, this job I hate. Then oil, final drive, and good for another buncha miles.

There's a new Super Tenere in town! My friend John, formerly a Triumph Explorer pilot, picked up his brand-new 2015 Super Ten today. I cut out of the office for a few minutes for the grand unveiling. I gave him the link to this forum, so hopefully he will join up in due course. No promises, though. He is not a huge computer user.

My 2012 is in the pic on the left and John's new silver and blue machine is on the right. Always great to welcome a new Suoer Ten rider into the fold.

Cheers,

Bruce

Confirmed what I saw someone post in a thread around here in the last few weeks. Put my wife's OEM lower seat on the 2015 ES. She was able to get as much foot on the ground as she can on her 2012 Tenere which has been lowered 1". Went back and forth a few times. I wouldn't have guessed it. Didn't notice it myself. Would not have tried it if someone didn't post it about the new bike being lower, but it's true.

One more cut in the death by a thousand cuts of this bike remaining mine.
