Did some installs on the new bike.
sandman tank protector

Headlight protector and side bags

Now for the scary stuff. Fuse block and Aux lights with the Skene controler. Looks like the ES has a lot less room to add doodads. Still looking for a spot for the fuse block.

I woke up at 4am this morning and couldn't sleep. So I went out to the garage and got out the FSM, dug deep and finished fixing all the misrouted cables, hoses, missing bolts, not even connected hoses, (fuel tank overflow and breather), re-installed my GPS that had been seeing use in the blazer, put the new Yuasa XTZ14S (yeah baby, more CCAs than the 12S, but the same size), battery in, connected all the leads for the aux stuff and oem stuff and backed it out into the sunshine about 0900...

Then turned the key, verified the voltage at 12.8, flipped the kill switch to run and hit the starter...

And she fired right up, then died! :'( So I pushed the starter button again and she fired right up again and kept running. ::014:: Guess after 3 months with the tank off there was some air in the line.

I don't have winter to blame. 7 months ago my CCT failed and pistons/valves got too friendly. That took 4 months for the warranty repair to be finished at my local dealer. I rode the bike home with the CC dangling off the side, wires un-connected and having barely saved the poor bike from the pressure washer dude at the dealership. We're in the process of selling the house, so the last 3 months have been all about getting the house ready. Fixing things, cleaning things, de-cluttering, de-personallizing, etc. All while my wife was doing IMS work for the BMW booth and I was working my job and trying to handle everything on the plate when my wife was gone. Finding bike time was tough. And when I could, well, there was the wife's BMW to wrench on too.

So hey, for me, this is a big deal. I'm going for a ride on the Super Ten for the first time in 3 months, and that prior ride was only 15 miles or so home from the dealer. Really it's been 7 months, since getting home from the month long AK/YT trip since I've actually gone for a ride on the S10. We even bought a Vstrom as a third bike for when one of the other two were down.

Ok, thanks for the bandwidth. It's 53F and clear skies/sunshine and supposed to hit 73F today. Going to run up to Zion NP, hit the lower canyon and maybe do some tagging. ::015::

Yep, FINALLY! Had a nice 120 mile wander today, no issues. I had forgotten how good the brakes are on the S10. Nice to be back on the beast. ::001::

My first Tenere was hit by a car a few months ago. I bought another one used with 23000km (14000miles) on the clock to replace it.

Today I fitted up the auxiliary fuel cell and the first of many spotlights.

Hit by a car? Replaced?

Where is that wrecked Tenere? Lol
You'd think it'd show up somewhere getting parted out.

Glad you're ok. That is actually the best news.

Not on the bike but the intercoms.

I have run the Scala G9 for years and love them. Bulletproof reliable and they add dimensions of convenience, safety, and camaraderie to every ride.

I sold my old but in good shape G9 Powerset to my new riding buddy for a deal after scoring a G9x Powerset at ADV rider (actually got two sets - one for my longtime riding partner) for a steal - $320 per set.

The upgrade to earbud capability is worth the cost/effort alone. The rest of the upgrades are just gravy.

Now we just gotta get rid of all this damn salt they dumped on the roads and I can ride.
