Yamaha Heated Grip Installation

Basically is just plug each pair of wires from each grip to the pre installed conectors, black and grey, as I show on the pictures. We made a movie, my friend is editing it, I will post it for you guys.

Saludos from Bogotá, Colombia.

Bought her some fresh company. WR450F '12 sold & KTM250EXC' 15 waiting to be collected. I will have to get rid of that "Piss on KTM" sticker now. :D
Pics soon.

Personally, when I tighten plugs, I give it a quarter turn or less after the gasket makes contact. I hate removing tight plugs.

Never used a torque wrench on spark plugs, maybe I should try that one of these days ::025::
That is the common thinking I have come across. First tighten them with hand then tighten 1/6 with spanner.

Me too but loose spark plugs seem to be mentioned too often. Whats the cure?

Two of the spark plugs on my 2012 were loose at 6,000 miles... was told by the service rep. It will be in for service next month, 52,000+ miles, and I will ask again.

I thought I'd take advantage of a rainy Saturday to start making the CF muffler shield that I have been wanting to fab. After a couple of hours prepping the materials to make a mold I decided to take the easy way out and just dress up the stock one with some Di-Noc film since it's just a cosmetic upgrade. So much easier and I think it looks pretty cool.

Nice tires BigBob! How is the clearance around the center stand and front fender?

Yesterday, I tried flipping the side brackets on the Wasp bracket, seems like the screens were sitting mighty high. They work in either direction, so having them lower, I put on the larger screen I have (and for the life of me, I can't remember which screen it is!). The only issue I'm having right now is that the lights I put on the handlebars are contacting at full lock, so I'm keeping the bracket a bit loose, so the screen can move, if needed.

Did not notice any difference. I did notice that the battlewings had the speedo about 2 MPH faster than the Garmin at interstate speeds. Now they both read the same.

I had a little spare time and decided it was time to make the little woman a backrest. I started out with a piece of ¼ aluminum 20” long X 4” wide and a Drag Specialties backrest pad # 0822-0057. I had the plate in the scrap pile and the pad cost $68.

Having the Jesse QDRP plates on the back made the job easy. I took the two plates apart, drilled a hole for the T-nut and three small holes for the prongs to lock into and put the plates back together. That was all that was needed to do to the rack. I’m sure there are several ways to mount a nut for the front of the backrest, but this worked for me.

Next all I had to do was bend the aluminum plate to the desired angles, drill holes for the pad and mounting bolts, spray some paint and the job was done.

The rear bolt with a washer and nut on the bottom slides into the slot in the QDRP plate and a bolt goes into the forward hole. Tighten the two bolts and it’s done.

I had the bolts, aluminum plate and paint, so all I had to buy was the pad.

With the city firmly in the grip of a Chinook I swapped out the Tourances for Heidenau's because you never know when you might be able to sneak away for a bit of fun.

I love my Nomar Tire Changer!

I hear you there! I used my No Mar Classic for the first time last week to put on some PR4's. That is something I should have purchased years ago. Easy Peasy! ::012::

I MESSED UP!

I decided to remove the throttle body flaps (butterflies) as I had done before in V-Strom 1000 to improve sound and air flow.

It did work on my Suzuki but not on the S10. After I removed the plates, the bike sounded great, but the enging wouldnt stay on and the idle was realy high, close to 3k rpms.

So I put everything back in place, air box, 2 sensors under gas tank, gas hose, breathing hoses, side panels and started the bike.

The engine light came on and a error code number 022 was/is showing on dash.

Now the light still on, with the code and the gas throttle is unresponsive!

When the bike is in neutral the gas throttle works fine but when I put in gear, no response at all no matter how much I turn down.

Im taking the bike to the dealer tmw.

Guys, dont make the same mistake, like I said, it worked on my Suzuki but not on the S10.

Check if you plugged the sensor on the airbox on the right hand side, that one will bring the CEL, I just can't tell if it would be code 022.
