Actually did these mods a few weeks ago. Just now getting around to posting some photos.
Russell Day Long Heated seats for me and Nancy. Oh so nice.
Also installed the FJR "floorboards" on the passenger pegs. nancay really likes them. Makes it easier to mount and dismount and gives her some flexibility to move her legs around a bit.

Didn't have much time to ride this weekend, but I did manage a 110 mile ride yesterday, and 110 mile ride today.

Those that say that this bike gets better and better with miles are absolutely correct. I have 4,600 miles on the Super Tenere that I rode today, and it gets better every time.

I was loosing power and sometimes I would have a surge on acceleration. I decided to check the spark plugs. I will post the photos laters. I installed new ones and the problem was solved. I also took out the dB killer in the arrow pipe and the it sounds much better: deep low rumbling sound.

I decided to enjoy a 70-degree, late November day by taking a 100-mile ride. Planned to ride from Canyon out to Vega, then up to Boys Ranch, then back down thru Amarillo to Canyon. Left at 3 p.m. wearing my warm weather gear (Olympia mesh riding suit and Held Steve Gloves). About 25 miles from home, I could easily feel the wind switch from the West to the Northeast and over the next 10 miles I saw the temperature gauge on the dash drop from 75 to 58. Not terribly frigid, but when you are dressed for warm weather it felt awfully chilly. So I aborted my planned route and once I got to Vega I headed South instead of North and rode down towards Hereford. Within 15 minutes the temp had climbed back up to 68 and I was warm again. That lasted until I was bout 10 miles West of Canyon and heading for home, when I hit the front again. Regardless, it was a nice ride....also a good shakedown after having replaced the spark plugs and air filter. I'm always leery of a misfire from coil packs not being re-installed correctly.

Love the seat. And the pannier racks, where did you get those from?

Added a tall Cee Baily wind screen for winter Hwy riding. Rode in 20 degree temps for 3 hours at highway speed. Zero wind buffet. Great. Will change out in spring to stock. off road use, I don't use one.

I ordered a ACD skidplate 2 days ago. Raw alum. to go with my matte Grey. I think it will offset it well.

New Russell seat came today ::013::...can't really test it till spring :(
High of 43 and only 60% chance of rain tomorrow. Lightweight. ;) Mostly sunny on Thurs and Friday, thought that rain from Wed might be solid, since the highs are still below 30F. You'll be fine on the major roads, just watch out in the shadows of the secondary roads. Should be able to get the break in miles done w/o any trouble at all.

while changing my plugs, I saw this, the result of passing through deep water last year. It seems to me it is always advisable to check and clean plugs after deep water riding
Wow! You're lucky they didn't freeze in the block.

Them plugs weren't even tight enough in the head to crush the washers, especially the one on the left.

Whats the answer to the loose spark plugs? Were they properly torqued when you installed them? Reason for asking is I might be dealing with this very soon.

Personally, when I tighten plugs, I give it a quarter turn or less after the gasket makes contact. I hate removing tight plugs.

Never used a torque wrench on spark plugs, maybe I should try that one of these days ::025::

Today we installed a pair of PUIG Heated grips into the OEM conectors of a ST 2014. It worked just fine, dash board control operated perfectly.
