Went to install my Altrider universal joint guard purchased through Revzilla. After looking at the bad laser cut on the Altrider logo, I had to return for another. They actually used a magic marker at the factory to try and cover up the bad cut. Shout out to Revzilla for easily taking care of the exchange. I might of been anal, but for $67.00 you think you wouldn't see something like this.
Wow - Altrider's QC isn't doing them any favors right now.

Very cool !!!
Is 30 mm lower enough to clear a 21" with a skid plate like an ACD?
Are you going to market these? Any idea on cost to a customer?
Dont know if it is enough, but I hope it at least is enough to keep the wheel clear of the headers.
A college helped me design the clamps and machine them, if he is interested in making a few more then maybe we will make some and sell them.
It is mostly up to my college to decide since I travel a lot in work and dont realy have the free time to do it, so he will do most of the work.
About the price, the material cost is almost $200 and the machining took 18 hours and it will cost some to get them anodized as well, but we have to figure out have much we want for the machining before we can give you an exact number.

barkingllizard! 70,000km. Wow. I thought my 51,000km was a lot. Still feels new though. Did you sign up for Yamaha Demo Days at Blackfoot on May 30th. Try out the new 2014. Not too late! KTM rides tomorrow.
No demo days for me, leaving on 28th for Montana, Idaho, Oregon and Vancouver Island...

Just returned today from a 750+ mile trip in the Texas Hill Country with the wife. Roads and Bike were prefect. Had some rain so the dirt roads and water crossings we ran were good. Didn't want to come back but ready to go again. :) Saw another Tenere on the way back .....black Tenere with a Strom or two on a back road yesterday with a deer crossing just in front of us in a creek bottom.

Being a machinist my self I realize the effort envolved BUT I would like to know if buying a set of
these is possible. What are you useing for risers ? You could put handle bars anywhere
you want them ::008::

At nearly 42,000 km, I changed the engine and final drive oil today. Amazing how much better the bike always feels after an oil change. ::008::

Spent some time and miles riding around Mt. Hood. Perfect weather but lots of cars heading back into town later in the day. There are so many cool places to ride around here!

Nice looking rear BB there, Paul!!!

I hope you are taking some opportunities to turn off the TC and see what they will do off the pavement. My first set of BB's are pretty well trashed - easily at less than 50% life left and not even at 1000 miles yet. They have pasted a grin on my face, though, every time I get them out in the muck and let em rip!!! I'll get them to 2000 miles on the pavement but they'll be "road tires" by then. Enjoy!!!

How do you find the GPS on the bracket behind the screen, doesnt it vibrate alot and what bracket dit yoy use to mount it on the bar,,
I went with an SW Motech mount and the vibration is a problem I'm also realizing. It was solid as a rock on the 2012, but the 14's mount is intrinsically less rigid.

I washed my Super Ten (it hadn't been washed in nearly 7 months and had over 800 rain-splashed miles), waxed the tank, sprayed it down with some silicone spray and adjusted the throttle cable. Now its ready to take a short trip down to Roswell, NM, in the next week or so.

Today I changed the oil and final drive oil in the Tenere, and just the oil in my 660.

I also discovered that if you try to cross reference the Puralator filter number to the Wix filter you''re gonna have a bad time. O'Reilly Auto parts didn't list the Tenere in their parts catalog so we just used the PL14612 part number. That recommended a 31365 Wix filter. After filling the oil I cranked the bike to check for leaks and the oil filter was spewing oil everywhere.

Lesson learned.

Spent Saturday adding to the bug collection on the front of the bike. Spent Sunday evening washing and waxing away said bugs. Spent today meeting a whole new crew of bugs in the wine country of Sommerset south of Placerville, CA. Spent a little time this evening cleaning the bike for a fun week of commuting. Going to work is always better on a motorcycle!

Tested the integrity of the ACD monster plate and the toughness of the TT crash bar.
They paid off entirely.
First there was a rock...

And then 30 feet later, the landing spot.

This is what happened in between. :D

Pro taper, foot peg, one mirror, one radiator hose are lost.
I hope to fix the headers, skid plate and the side stand, although I'm not sure for the ACD plate. :(
TT bar fixed already with some primitive tools, like steel pipe, nylon belts...

Chasing Coma is never an easy task. :D
