Ordered a heap of parts. Have a 6500km trip coming up in about six months and want to have things bedded in nice and early!
Ordered:
Stebel Nautilus horn,
Oxford Adventure heated grips,
Extra 12v accessory outlet,
Narva dual line fuse block (will have one switched bank and one full time bank)
Switch for light bar, and will order light bar soon!

Trip is from Canberra to Uluru return. Not decided on wether I will be camping or hotel hopping yet, depends on what others decide. That may mean some further purchases if camping!

I had a Screaming Banshee horn installed. Sure, I could have done it, but I wasn't in the mood. My dad and I worked on my bikes together. Then I took a nice long ride. I'll post my review of the horn under modifications. I'm happy with it now.

[smg id=1701 type=preview align=center caption="Highway Dirtbikes switches"] Top switch toggles the temp/fuel consumption gauge, bottom the odometer/trip computer/clock. The rocker switch toggles the Rigid Industries led light bar.

That's very cool, where did you get the switch and how is it wired in? I would like to do that!

Installed a tool box. Removed the stock rear rack, made up an aluminum plate and attached a Pelican case (model 1170). I have a Jesse rear compartment and am waiting on the matching rear rack, which I will attach to the top of the Pelican.

Here is what it looked like before

And here it is with the plate and Pelican case installed, waiting for the Jesse rear rack

Cheers, David

Rode to Super Plush Suspension (South San Francisco) to have the rear Ohlins repaired. There was air in the Preload Adjuster. Shock off, repair completed, shock on. Good to go.

Rode today and never got a drop. Shows you how spread out this town is. Different weather on different sides of town.

Down hear on the coastal side we witness the "making" of the weather. But often just miss out on it. Crazy.

Glad you're surviving over there on the west side bro.

Been traveling for work so much out of state since I moved here, the rain was after thought, I just wanted to ride. What Yammy dealership does your nephew work at? I will need a service shortly, figured I would throw him my business.

The Yamaha shop on your side went outta business. Wild West got rewarded the franchise.
So now they are BMW, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, and Yamaha! Lol

I've bought 6-7 bikes there from Bo. And lots of junk (gear) from Indy. (nephew)

Never had a bike serviced there. In fact, never had a bike serviced in my life until this S10.

Only thing I know about their service department is when I got the tour once, of 6 bays, 4 had BMW's up on the benches. And 2 of em were final drive repairs.

I know it sounds like I just took a shot at BMW. But at the time I knew very little about them and was being educated by the service manager that was giving me the tour.

I do know that the nephew feels strongly that they have one of the best KTM techs around. But with them just now getting the Yammy franchise, they can't have much history. Right?

Service, no problem. But deep knowledge of the Tenere? Doubtful.

Because I'm old and forgot the excellent piece avc8130 did on the CJM, I experienced the 20deg+ of timing advance by going WOT above 5K rpm. It was short, but felt horrible-like the engine was trying to run backwards. The reflash has risen to the top of the list.

Picked up from the dealer and road it 40 miles home.
Through rush hour traffic
In the rain, without looking at the manual to work out which mode or traction control is what.
And what a nice feature - air temp to tell me how cold the world is (9'c)
But on the flip side, jumping from a DL1000 to the S10; wow what a difference. Sooooo smooth, soooo nice. Looking forward to Sunday and some miles

Probably catch a little grief from someone, but this was my riding buddy today. Full gear. Back rural 30mph roads. Perfect day. Rode to the softball tourney park for 4-5 year olds.

Only challenge was ignoring the "go faster pawpaw"

Our little town has a recent Texas 5A state championship in softball. Big deal around here. Guess this is why. Lol. Little tigers start young.
