Just got an Acrapovic slip on mounted, and threw on the Kaoko throttle lock. Damn cold today, but I'm set the the 80 degree weather we're supposed to be getting this weekend!

Well, yesterday and today.
Wired up my Oxford Heated Grips and my Rigid Industries light bar. Even wired up a connection for a heated jacket.

I started with pins which I got off ebay so I can use the existing grip and light plugs.

Once everything was wired in, it was time for mounting.

Had to cut off the OEM grips because they would NOT come off, Oxfords then went on pretty easily.

The light mounted fairly easily too, just had to dremel a notch in the plastic.

The big time consuming part was making a bracket for the panel mounted switch for the lights. I used a small piece of 90 degree angled aluminum. Increased the angle a bit in the vise, a small hole for the mirror stem, and a bigger hole for the switch. Painted it with some 'hammered finish' spray paint. Some heat shrink tubing to keep it all waterproof and it is good to go. ::012::
That red light is blinding at night. I had to use a different switch.

Hi - is that a 'Keis' jacket? - the controller looks like one - how do you find it? is it good?

I'm thinking of one - i don't often ride in very cold temps - maybe 6 or 7degC at the lowest - but would be nice to not have to have so many layers on, which i think this would allow?
It's a Sedici jacket from Cycle gear.

All the reviews are very positive. A buddy got one and loves it. Price isn't bad either. They go for $160 with a free controller, I got mine on sale for less than $130.

I haven't had a chance to take it out at night yet but was already thinking about how to block some of the light (tape, paint, etc).

What switch did you go with?

The only other good one I found was a pendant switch from Rigid.

Thought about it...but it's another $30 before any tax and shipping.

If you search this thread for the word <Skene>, you should turn up my post on the Skene Intelligent Controller. This unit allows your stock high-beam switch to activate the driving lights at full power, and in the case of the Rigid lights, allows them to run at any 10% increment of power while the low-beam is on. It's not a cheap solution, but it is elegant. I also took Skene's advice and installed a 3-position Trailtech switch for even more light powering options. Probably switch overkill, but I geeked out.

Got my custom light switch from Jaxon today - Holy Brick Shithouse, Batman! I love over-engineered stuff, and this thing looks and feels like it will outlast the darn bike!

So nothing to the Tenere today, but this weekend will be a full-on electrical Farkle-fest.

PC8 going in
New lead and routing for heated gear
Rigid Industries SR6 mount and wiring with my new badass switch
Lead wired for the Motopump that's inbound from NY

And I'm gonna try and get a ride or two in as well to test out the new toys...

Been 3 weeks of travel, and I am pining for a ride. Luckily I am back in Texas Sunday .

I will call you out on that one....been absolutely incredible here in sunny southern California and averaging in the upper 70's to low 80's everyday. Just enough wispy clouds in the sky at times to add some character and incredible sunsets....and oh the beautiful twisty back country roads here in the So Cal foothills.
