Ordered the 'Wide-cornering lenses' for my Baja Squadron LED driving lights. These lenses supposedly produce a downward-pointing, wide pattern instead of the full-circle pattern from the clear lenses that illuminates road signs and entire trees ::013::. I'm also hoping I won't have to dim the Bajas while in low beam to avoid dazzling on-coming traffic as I'm doing now with the clear lenses. I'll report the results sometime after parts finally arrive.

Would love a report back confirming your hopes. I'm not unhappy in high-beam moments. But would love to maximize low- beam scenario.

Nothing today, because it's snowing and my garage is coolldd!! But New years eve, the sweet wife and I rode the Blue Beast from 5200 feet in Lafayette, Co up to Estes Park at 7522'. At 42degrees and nothing heated, we didn't stay long. On the way home I tested the TC on a steep dirt road covered with hardpack snow. Not too good, spun out real quick. The slide backward was stopped not by the brakes but by throwing out the side-stand like an anchor. Works! Also helped to get it turned around as my boots were slip slidin too. Adventure Riding :))

Had a cold seemly forever and wanted to ride today but needed to pickup a new Remington 870 Express Tactical shotgun, 5.56 and 12 gauge ammo, soft gun case, a couple free meals, came home and rearranged the safe. Might ride a Sierra Pass or two on Monday.

Need to install a Eastern Beaver PC8, Rigid lights, and a Powerlet accessory outlet I have had sitting around.

Got out and rode her - it was a perfect morning too!
"You can go out, you can take a ride
And when you get out on your own
You get all smoothed out inside" - Neil Peart

I needed some "smoothing out" and it worked a treat!
And I'm fully convinced this heated gear is some of the best $$ I've ever spent on anything...I mean EVER!

Not Florida, but not back East either. Sorry, guys. Been there. Keep cozy.

Here's a quickie ride out behind Duval yesterday. Blue sky and 43 F. Might as well, snow cover in the mountains is thin. Seahawks have a bye.
Got good and dirty! Tried to find my way from Duval to Sultan through the back. Too many @###!!*** gates that weren't on the GPS! Anyone in the Pac NW done that?

Nice looking ride Hugh. Hope you can make the tech day, but you said you may be out of state. Have a good trip and see you soon. Just think of the roads you will be on once you get the street tires off your bike. Later!
Jeff.

Jeff,

Yeah. Getting more confident all the time on the beast. Starting to feel smaller all the time. Was probably going faster than I should have on this road. Ever tried it? Nice little jaunt to get some dirt on the skid plate.
Unfortunately I have a conference the week before your tech day and will still be in the Syracuse, NY area that weekend (actually my "home town" of Kingston, Ontario) where I trucked around on my RD350 waaaaay back.

Getting a reflash this week, by the way.

I received the Powerlet harness, as well as the Hepco & Becker Rear Brake Reservoir Protector that I had ordered. Now I have a couple projects to fill a few evenings this week!

The flash is great! Its changed the way i use the modes. S for asphalt T for everything else.I use to leave S mode on all the time but the T feels like the old S but smoother thottle adjustment.S mode really livens the bike up, red line comes quick and is a blast on the road. I got to ride New Years day 195 miles 3/4 of it dirt roads, I kept TCS2 on and thumbed between modes. Best ride I've had in awhile and the flash helped. That and the K60s You will enjoy the bike even more. Good looking country!

TG,
Thanks. This bike rocks already! K60's are in the plans as soon as I wear out the stock. Still having fun in the dirt.
Where did you ride in TN? I noticed Dan at GSMotorent sold his ST (replaced it with an Explorer). Hoping to convince him to get a 2014, although I don't think he will have it when I come down for my annual ride in April.

I rode here local. I live 50 miles southwest of Nashille. Riding the same roads I rode my first bike on, cl125. Hills, hollers creeks and rivers farms and big tracks of timber. You might say banjo country ::025::

Went in the garage and threw another blanket on her. Temps dipped to -16 F with windchill temps at -45 F. 3-4ft snow drifts.
It's going to be a long winter! :'(

Only had my bike 2 weeks, and it's been colder than I like so not much riding.

I've installed the following already:
  • Touratech Adjustable Windshield Bracket
  • Parabellum 24" clear windshield
  • Yamaha side wind deflectors
  • AltRider Crash bars
  • Yamaha top box
  • Yamaha Tank Bag
  • Denali PowerHub 2 fuse panel
  • Wiring for TourMaster heated vest
  • Ram Mount and wiring for Zumo 660 GPS
  • Wiring for Battery Tender
  • Pelican 1200 License plate mounted

Still waiting for delivery - Wolfman Side racks to hold Wolfman Rocky Mountain soft bags. The plan is to be ready to go as soon as the roads improve a bit :)

I spent the weekend in Upstate NY, with the family and my daughter's boyfriend. He was so amused by the -7F temps he had to go outside and hang around out there just to say he's done it. Having lived in NY for the first 19 years of my life, I found no such amusement. I can remember -20 during a week that never got up to 0. God, that sucked.

My Teneres today...nothing. Just plugged into the battery tenders waiting for the -3 F temps forecasts for this evening. Did I mention I really hate winter?

I don't know how yaw do it DirtDad. In 55 years, let's say winter has you indoors 3 months a year. Almost 14 years burning up propane and staying warm? (what we are doing today)

I gotta believe I'd be an ice fisherman or something. I laugh at those things when I see\hear about it. But today it is making more sense.

No wonder all my inlaws (Wisconsin) drink so much. Lol
