You could probably use one of my wife's biscuits to plug the hole. It would hold for several thousand miles. R ::013::

I inflated my tires to street spec using mt handy little 90 degree valve adaptor from Best Rest products, works great and now I can use any air chuck from the side rather than feeding awkward angles or carrying an airchuck just in case. Will work well for compact air compressors in the field too. ;)

Today I surveyed the damage.
After 10 years of riding, 2 weeks of which have been on my new Ten, I was in my first motorcycle accident. I was run off the road yesterday, and crashed the bike with 740 miles. I'm fine, and thankfully so is the bike.
I swerved to miss the guy who ran the stop sign, I was faced with a tough choice. Run into oncoming traffic, or take her into the ditch. I chose the ditch. By luck, and grace of God I hit a very large muddy hole. The bike went down on the left side, slide for a while, then flipped onto the right.
Other than a bent left side side case mount, and a scratched skid bar, there was no damage to the bike. For anyone planning on crashing there bike, I highly recommend you land in thick, messy, deep mud.

Glad you are both okay. I will take your advice and make that my plan for future crashes.

Anytime a get-off story ends with rider and bike ok, it's something to celebrate!

Means you were meant to ride again mate. :)

Looks like it's been there for a while. I'm drawing a blank, what color is our antifreeze? Not that it would have anyway to get there. Did you have a K&N? Over oiling that can leave residue...

No, don't have a K&N.... just the OEM filter. But it sure does look like the oil thats used for them filters.
Anyway, I'll check back this spring. Now everything is washed up.

It's a combination of condensed crank case breather & fuel vapors.
There is a little drain cap on the bottom of the air box if you look closely.

That is just extra oil/fuel but it doesn't come from the filter. If you notice at the bottom of the air box on the outside there is a clear drain cap that is there for the purpose of catching the excess. Yours will be full. Just pull it off and drain and do the same inside the air box. Not sure where the oil comes from but yours is a little excessive. Do you turn the key on and off without starting the bike often? Usually while people are adding accessories to try them out. Not a good idea. Pumps extra fuel into the injectors and this could be some of the excess mixed with oil. ::001::

Glad to hear you're OK, but more importantly, what punishment did the stop-sign-blowing asshat get? Hopefully he didn't leave the scene of his stupidity and disregard for other people.

Ass Hat stopped just long enough to watch me land. Several others that saw everything did stop to make sure I was ok. Apparently though, my performance was so good that everyone was too busy looking at me to get the plates. Not much the cops could do to the guy but at least they could tell him what a dick he is for not stopping.

Today is our second last day of a weeklong trip in Southern South Africa. Extreme hot temperatures, but no problems with the Tenere ! We have done so far 800 km of which 70% were gravel roads in the Karoo. Great fun ! Mosselbay/ Sutherland/ Prins Albert...

I must point out, you may already know, but we had to cut off 1-1/2" of the Fender Extenda as it contacted the bashplate on hard hits. Mine caught above the bashplate and broke my fender. Anyway after cutting 1-1/2" off, no problems.

with the impending weather (snow and road salt) i washed and waxed the S10. i don't put it away but i do tuck it away waiting for road salt to get washed away.

alternatively for the same reason i put the trellborg winter friction spikes on the atk in anticipation of snow and ice riding. let it snow...let it snow!
