i changed rear pads at 9500 miles. They were rubbing on rivets. Took me 2 minutes to change. Longer to get wrenches out and jack up the lift.
Later!!!

Are you a rear braker or do you normally use the front brake with linked ABS?

Any more details on this? What gauge, standoffs, etc? I've got an old rider backrest that was for my V-Star 1100 I'm looking to convert to do the same with. Thanks!

Honestly they are just some aluminium spacers we had laying around the shop. height is right around 1.125" and sidewall thickness of about .25". Then the rear carrier bolts i had to get from fastenal they were 8X140mm. The bracket was made out of .25" thick aluminium i do not know which grade. My father made it i just sent him the pattern and told him what it was for.

I also can't understand why all those people are looking at the trailer and not the bike.
;)
"Danke für die Blumen " :)

But those people are not looking at the trailer it is part of our political campaign, we are giving away little Tomato shaped sponges to clear away all the Banksters out our parliament, the Boy took one, but his sister saw it, and being a Tory blew the wistle on him so his mother forced him to put it back.

So far for freedom of Thought in the Netherlands...

Fitted a sunglare cover to my GPS. Took the bike for a ride and it seems to work really good. Even though the Garmin 660 display is surpose to be sunglare friendly this makes it easier to read the display in bright sun.

For anyone intrested I got it from a seller on ebay, hes in America and shipped it to Australia ok. Heres the link if intrested http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/400221230217
Im no way affiliated with this seller.

In 10,000 miles no one has rode on the back so less is better . No hand rails needed , the plastic base under the seat works fine as a grab rail for using center stand . The trunk is mounted to 3 points were rack was bolted and a metal plate on bottom adds support . I can carry bungee net , hat and tire plug stuff. I plan to use Wolfman duffel long ways across back for traveling . I'm a lite packer .

I removed that silly rack months ago, it just makes the seating for the pillion awkward high, if it had the tools or a lock stash i could understand it. i would love to see a Longseat for it, the grapevine rumoured a real "bobbed" adventure, but instead it became a lardy "Bash More Weight" Advendingture :)

Ordered more small upgrades ("farkelites"??). Did about a hundred miles with some new boots and saved a (turtle's) life. Not a bad day :)

Installed the Stebel air horn from my Norge (traded in on the S10). Separated the compressor from the horn section and mounted the compressor where the tool kit went and the horn section on the right fork leg as shown by others on the forum. Works like a champ and a very easy installation.

Installed super sport (clutch mod) and ABS-off switches. Soldered the connections directly to the OEM clutch switch plug. Ran wiring to the fuse block and placed the 30 amp ABS fuse in-line so that I could "pull the fuse" by flipping the switch to shut off ABS when necessary. I ran extra wire in case I want to move the wiring later. Best $25 mod I have ever done.
