New spark plugs, one new ignition coil after a fist fight with the socket wrench and a load of water build up inside the headlight unit. Things are progressing though...

I found out tonight that having the headlight unit out sure makes it easy to see and access the fork removal! Not that they were hard to begin with... just easier yet. Goodluck on your rebuild!

Bike been idle 4 years, shoulder repairs bad hip new hip I'm back. This week wash, flush brakes and clutch. Ordered new EO7's. And new plugs. That wasn't as bad as I thought. Great site this is. 19k on bike, had reflash and dyno tuned so I think why plugs look rich. Huals @$$ runs great, exploring this year.

I have never found a bike that at 45,000 needed a new rear disk. I ride with EBC HH pads and ride through twisty roads aggressively using both brakes and engine braking. Yamaha must have used a very soft steel for these rotors as this is the 2nd post I have seen on this subject. If so it will be aftermarket rotors for me. I'm interested to see if others are watching out for this during routine maintenance.

Hi

We seem to have similar riding styles and I get what you mean. I’ve never previously replaced a rear disc. I too use EBC HH in the front and have done for about 30k miles and have no noticeable disc wear whatsoever. None!

I also ran EBC HH in the rear for a short time and noticed the disc chewing up a bit, so went to non HH pads, however the rear disc still chewed up, hence the replacement.

Perhaps the rear disc is made from a different material to the front?

Our riding season starts on March 15h so:

Last week plugged the bike onto the battery tender/charger
This weekend I did the seat lowering modification
Finished repositioning my yellow D3's
Installed an Altrider side stand foot enlarger
Pumped the tires to spec

The coming 2 week-end's

Remove the Old GPS mount for the outgoing Zumo 396
Installing the Motopumps GPS bracket for the incoming Zumo XT
Install the front fork leg guards (Altrider knock offs)
Got brackets made for the install of a tool box on the rigth side of the bike near the pilon seat (this is not an urgent project - will work on it on rainy days but ready for my trip)

On or about March 15th dropping bile off at my mechanics garage to get the second set of D3's + Dialdim wired (I installed the Denali bracket and lights) and my skid plate - then ready to roll !
