We're in our more comfortable time of the year. I can't/won't ride every day of every winter month, but every month will have a day (at least) to ride. And as far as access to the motor, you can't cram 6lbs of poop into a 5lb bag. Double the cylinders, 4x the plugs, etc in pretty much the same amount of space. And then throw in a 6gal tank.

Wife and I did our last ride of the season today. Weather starting to change, you can feel winter in the air now.
Today ride, 5deg but sunny. Snow covered mountains in sight makes me itch for my other vice in life.
Its time to put the Tenere away till spring.

Am just preparing to do a plug and air filter change and decided to clean the underside of the tank while it’s up. Upon removing the black trim from the lower edges of the tank, I noticed a bit of rust starting to take hold on the inside edge. I guess the trim catches and holds water. Have cleaned it up an applied a film of grease prior to replacing the trim.

Might be worth a check next time you have the tank up.

Just installed the quite expensive IMS ADV I footpegs.
I didn't realize how big they were. They are HUGE.

With their 5.3 inch in length, I find them borderline dangerous when it's time to put a foot on the ground.
I'll give them a try to get use to it. But first impression was not good.

It was more like Wales 260 million years ago Rob as it was under water. I think you have missed the boat mate.

Stock peg placed over the IMS ADV I

Voilà - The IMS extra width and surface is nice, the construction is well done.
BUT
The length is obstructing when you have to put your foot on the ground at complete stops or for dabbing.
IMS added a stopper preventing it to fold completely. Most likely for security to avoid this crocodile jaw to bite you in a fall. Someone reported on another forum that with these pegs he bent his peg mount (welded to the frame) during a casual fall at slow speed. He had to cut the whole thing out off the frame and rebuild / re welded it to the frame. NOT FUN! When the stock pegs are stressed enough, they will snap off instead of damaging the mount/fame.

I did replace the flimsy pegs on my previous bikes (CRF250l, KLR, DRZ400 and Africa Twin) but they were all about the same length as the stocks. After market were just made with better grip and less flex. I think Yamaha did a decent job with the stock pegs on the S10. I should have tried them without the rubber pad before compulsive buying those IMS'.

Many folks are raving about the IMS ADV I... I might be over reacting.
