I just got this little u lock. It’s going to lock my helmet through the chin bar to a grab rail. Straps are too easy to cut. It was only $20.
Take a look at the Helmet Hook for the handlebar end. Bought one last year and also purchased one of those little Master locks and my helmet
now has a nice, safe perch now.

Got this tail pack so I can still carry tools and stuff when I’ve left the side cases behind.

I wanted to avoid a strap lock due to current knife technology. I came out one day to find just my D-ring in the lock.

It’s a Kriega US-10 tail pack. I got it at Cycle Gear. Not cheap at $99 but I had a gift certificate from Christmas and a $20 off coupon from the Long Beach MC Show. Fits perfectly on the rear seat and is claimed to be completely waterproof. The Ténéré has perfect tiedown points built in.

MFP, funny you should ask about my tire. I run a Michelin Anakee 3 on the rear. Amazing rear tire which now has over 14k miles on it. Long wear and decent traction. However, the same tire in the front position didn't last long at all, not even 8k miles, and I ended up replacing it in Canada on a trip. Consequently, I'm currently using a bias Dunlop tire which is slightly a different size which was all I could locate at the time (and place). Oh, and the tire says Harley Davidson on the sidewall. Other than a little urge to polish the bike the Dunlop is working out great.

Here is the link to my Canada trip with more tire info.

Washed the wheels and underside in the Tortilla Flats creek crossing and rode on to Fish Creek. Recent rains and mountain snow made it a lot different than a few weeks ago. Interesting when pickup trucks have to fold in their mirrors to pass each other on a mountain road.

Jealous!

I'm hoping to get down there at the end of March.....................We'll see how it goes. It all depends on the weather.

Afterwards, I had to take a test ride. Discovered the TPS high pressure limits needed to be adjusted upwards... After doing so, I ended up changing the units of measurements to BARS and now can't figure out how to get back to PSI. The joys of technology:rolleyes:

Try this:

1. Long press "^" key to turn on the monitor.
2. Long press "SET" key until there was a "BAR PSI" words only on the screen.
3. Short click "SET" the word "BAR" or "PSI" flickers
4. Short click "^" , the word "PSI" or "BAR" flickers
5. Short click "SET"

So are these safe to run with rubber valve stems? I've read some aren't safe (like the type that connect to my Garmin Zumo). I hear some of these rip the stems off from the centrifical force...
I’ve run rubber without problems on both my ST and a FJR. (Garmin’s TPS)
Added 90degree metal stems at first tire change though. If you’re keeping rubber I’d change them depending on age.

Dmulk, thank you for the instructions. I'll give it a try. Meanwhile 42 PSI equals 2.9 BARS...

Regarding a heavier cap ripping off a valve stem, the spinning wheel is causing a centrifigul force on the cap/stem so if anything the heavier cap is trying to squish the stem.

In other news, after 14,518 miles my rear tire, Michelin Anakee 3, was almost out of tread. Cycle Gear had another on sale for $177.09 so I pulled the rear wheel and had the local Cycle Gear store mount a new one. I wanted to wash the bike first but the store only had one when I called so I hurried to get there and buy the tire. Total cost was $228 and some change. A bit cheaper and certainly longer lasting than the Michelin PR4's I used on my FJR. More money for important stuff like gas:cool:

Installed new SKF KITG-43K fork seals and metal slides. A little more exspensive than the Yamaha seals so we shall see how they stand up.
A 13 with 79,000 kms and has had one previous fork oil change but no other parts replaced till now.

Wow that is great mileage on that tire. I have 11,250 on my Mitas E07 "not the new ones" and I am looking at the Michelin Anakee 3 now. How do you like that tire?
