Today I installed the Arboreal Systems Neutrino Black Box. This is a Bluetooth controlled power distribution system that you control from your phone. Too many configuration options to mention here. So now I have a solid platform to begin farkling.

Question, this installation requires connection to key-on hot circuit. I ended up using the DC outlet wire. There is supposed to be an accessory lighting connector, but I could not find one under either panels A or B on the right side. I see three unused connectors under the seat however. Two small black ones and a larger 4-wire one. Are one of these the accessory connector?

The ones under the seat are not what you're looking for.

There should be two connectors (one three wire and one four wire) to the right of your battery. They are usually tucked behind the wiring bundles to the right of the top of the battery.

Jeff, you are very close to the 2 accessory plugs you mention. See the tool kit? Take it out and reach way up there and far back and you should find them. Those under the seat are diagnostic plugs, not for accessories.

There are 2-set of plugs. One 4-pin and one 3-pin. You will use the 3 pin. It will have a dummy plug attached.

Today I installed SW-Motech skid plate and rear swing arm slider.

The skid plate is lightly touching the Bosch DP-3300 filter I have installed. I don't think it will cause a problem but I am probably going to use OEM filters only from here on out.

Mitas E-07. Just did 1500 km weekend of gravel and highway. No complaints. I had them on my GS1150 and they seemed more vibey, must've been the bike. We're in a drought here so no mud yet.

BTW, concerning ballance. With tires off, I held the wheel off the ground by the axle and removed half the weights from the factory. That balanced the rims pretty close. Then dumped airsoft pellets inside the tires before levering second bead over. About 2/3 cup in the back and 1/3 cup in the front. Either the tires are very well balanced from the factory or my poorboy balance method works pretty good. No perceptible imbalance.

I installed my new Akrapovic exhaust. It came from Revzilla (good service and shipping time). I had a little issue with the tab on top of the muffler (the one that connects to the frame) was slightly bent during shipping, causing the muffler to rub against the heat shield after my initial install. A little elbow grease fixed that right up though, and it fits and looks marvelous now.

The bike sounds fantastic as well. It's a little more 'serious' sounding, but is not very far from stock at all once you are on any sort of throttle. You do get occasional burbling on deceleration, but overall it's a very nice, albeit subtle, change from stock.

The wife and I took it for a 2 hour trip +/- yesterday, and the fueling in T mode (I didn't go to S-mode) seems to be a little smoother around 2-3k rpms. There is still a small stumble just off idle for me, which I believe a tune (or throttle body sync) will fix.

The next mod is the handlebars (FJ-09) because the stock ones are just wrong. I've moved them a couple of hundred times now, and I just can't get them correct. I need them straighter (less sweep). Also, we both hit the wall with the stock seat at around 1.75 hours, so that will be changed shortly (suggestions?). And I think I'm going to get some aux lighting installed at some point, but I'm not sure if I want to do the plug-n-play Yamaha kit (23P-854A3-00), or something else.

I'm just North of you and have harmonizer you borrow if you want. Plus I'd love to hear the updated exhaust!

Replaced the leaky front fork seal over the weekend. I also checked my spokes, and had several very loose ones on the front wheel. Of course, I managed to break one by over tightening it...

Picked my bike up (thankfully not like the picture above) from my local Yam' dealer after it's first annual service. £178.00 ($260) lighter but with the all important stamp in the service book. I just got home before the heavens opened up too.

Bought 4 year extended warranty from D&H Cycle for $389.00.
I am still debating that purchase. Got my '14 ES from D&H and the said I could buy it within a year.

Do you need to do all your services and oil changes at a dealer for the warranty to be honored? Would hate if I had to. I rather do everything myself that I can.

As has been noted on this forum many times before, no, you do not have to go to your dealer to have service performed. You can do it all yourself and keep a log. I can assure you though, if anything goes wrong with your bike that in any way ties in with service you performed (ie. oil related engine failure, cam chain, cam, valve failure, spoke failure, etc) you will have an uphill battle trying to prove you were qualified to do that work enough so to get it covered under warranty.

Even though I have a flash.. I'm not super impressed with the smoothness so I added a Two Brothers juice box with a custom map (thanks Karson). I also decided to replace the stock air filter with the trusty ol' K&N.
