What exactly does the clutch basket install change ? I don't have any issues with the clutch on my 2013 bike so just wondered what I would gain in doing itSuperJimbo said:'14 clutch basket install & Kaoko. It's a big grin. ::013::
Not quite enough o's in smooth for this new basket.
Would there be any harm in going ahead and doing with 15k on the clock? And should I re-use all the clutch plates, the only part most seem to be changing is the basket, nut and gasket......SuperJimbo said:Huge is right, it's not even the same bike. So much better at all Rpm's. I wonder if I lost something... yep, sure did. No more sack full of a$$holes rattle-buzz-chudder. Next stop is valve check & new cct.
Groundhog, I tend to believe that this basket-case issue is something that occurs with increasing mileage (km-age) on the vehicle. It would be interesting to know from other '13 model owners if this crops up. I didn't notice it any until my scooter had over 20k miles on it.
You'd like the Barnett pressure plate too, living where you do.Dogdaze said:Cool, thanks for the info. ::008::
How so? Is the diaphragm spring not up to the task?Don in Lodi said:You'd like the Barnett pressure plate too, living where you do.
It's just different. I put a Barnett on my Royal Star around 40,000 miles, she was slipping in fifth, a small slip in forth with a trailer. All good for another 70,000 on the oem discs and plates. The feel of the friction zone, how well it comes off the line, how hard you can hammer the throttle on quick shifts... I've not seen anything here on a bunch of bikes slipping at 50k, the oem must be doing well, or folks are just saying 'wear item' and fixing it without posting. An old school thing the Max riders were doing was putting two of the diaphragms in to get better power transfer. I think Barnett is a better answer now-a-days.Dogdaze said:How so? I missed "Seat Spacers". What are they and where do you order them?Kwatters said:Installed my new seat spacers last night and rode to work today. Only an hour but so far it seems to make a big difference. No feeling of sliding toward the tank!
Did you use thread locker on the screws for the locks? They work loose easily.tomatocity said:Installed the Locks, Cleaned, and installed the new OEM Black Side Cases.
Yes sir, Blue Loc-Tite. This is my second Tenere with OEM side cases. August 2011, during a Lake Tahoe trip, one of the locks came loose. I was lucky the lock did not fall out.iClint said:Did you use thread locker on the screws for the locks? They work loose easily.
They're the shorter seat bumpers for the underneath rear of the seat to lessen the slope of the seat.tomatocity said:I missed "Seat Spacers". What are they and where do you order them?
