thoughts? Asked about a valve check and someone said don’t really have to worry about it. This has all the extras I need minus highway pegs

Imo, this is not a bad deal. This is why (pros vs. cons -- again, all imo):

+ Motivated seller (days on market, recent price reduction, might further reduce price if sympathetic to your shipping costs. Lol.)
+ ES model
+ OEM luggage (Lots of knocks against them but I love mine; There's no "scaffolding" when removed, they fit closer to the bike/better in traffic & their smaller capacity forces me to pack for efficiency)
+ Color of tank (theoretically should help to better fight heat from sun rays)
+ World Crosser Skid Plate included (goldilocks skid plate, not too much, not too little; a work of art and its aluminum color the keeps the profile nice and svelte)
+ Crash bars (although I wouldn't have that much, this bike's already a porker)
+ Aux lights

- Mileage - 4,600 until first valve service but hey, you were probably gonna get there pretty quick anyway on this mile eating monster! Lol! This mileage would NOT be a dealbreaker for me as overall, it's relatively fresh and barely broken in. Only other PITA maintenance overdue might be the steering bearing lube. Additionally, it looks to be in excellent condition.

Also the dealer had a used 1250 GS also there and I took it for a test run. I don’t know what all the hype is about the Tenere had me hands down. I didn’t like the seating position the throttle response was awful IMO. The S10 is very similar to my 2013 FJR and that’s probably been my favorite bike besides this one. Yamaha is the best hands down. Just glad that GS was there so I could get that out of my system and it only took a 5 minute ride lol.

Man, they're such different animals. The S10 is a bit sportier and more "urgent" with everything imo. I can relate to much of what you experienced. Glad you got the firsthand experience. That's invaluable! ;-)

Ya because when I saw the GS I had second thoughts it had the gps, too case, fog lights. I didn’t like the wider tank and the seating position I didn’t like either. The only thing on the S10 will be bar risers and highway pegs
