Changed out the clutch and brake fluid. Put in speed bleeders. I thought that the right front caliper bleeder wasn't the same as was sent to me. But I think I just needed to take the O-ring off the stock bleeder and put on the speed bleeder... like I did on the rear brake. Find out tonight when I cycle the ABS and flush out the fluid afterwards. First video is the clutch... the stuff was coffee brown but no sludge. Why the super small reservoir? Glad I had the garbage bag stretched tightly around the reservoir as I spilled. I might use a small funnel next time.

This video is doing the brakes.

Yes, found that out. I don't know why Yamaha made that bleeder different from all the other bleeders on the bike. I still put two O-rings on it to help keep junk out of it.

There is one ring that is obvious and one below that. Keeps gunk out of the well that is caused by not having the20230929_133305.jpg shouldered stock bleeder in there.
And all this is going to be cleaned by this evening. Tweaks on gate latch are done.

Forks and calipers are now clean and put back together. I even took a scrub brush to the engine. That Dalton Hwy mud really sticks! Took it for a 120 mile test ride. All good and now ready to go to PA in a week. Took video of tearing down and putting a tube back together. Now I have to learn to edit... but when it's done I'll post it for those who want to do forks but haven't and need a little encouragement!

Did the forks on my previous 2013, everything turned out good but I was surprised at how much more difficult they were than standard forks, I think next time I will probably just remove the fork tubes and drop them off at my local dealer

Yes, they are different but after buying the fork kit it isn't bad. There was a steep learning curve but now I've now done these forks twice. Ain't no big deal now. Ride down here for a visit next time it needs doing and we'll get it done.

I traded my almost new Corbin front and back seat to Cycledude for his used Russell Day Long saddle. I checked with RDL and the seat was made for someone my size... which is not Cycledude's size! I always had the stock or the Corbin in the high/tall position. I put the RDL in the low position after a bit. I felt that I was sliding forward just a bit. I wasn't using the full potential of the seat. Today I got out the 3M 30# double sided sticky tape and snagged a couple of washers out of the bin. I think 1 washer only will do it. I am currently sitting on the bike with two... the longer I sit... the more I think I may want two. Seat is flat and with just a little forward lean the bars are right there... with my Helibar setbacks. 20231012_170232.jpg

Also my forks are all back together and not leaking after 200 miles. SKF seals and long Shock SOX's. Hopefully no more blown seals!
You may ask why I have those AltRider protectors and the Sox? I have dents in the forward edge of the AltRider covers. No doubt from rocks that would have nicked or deformed my shiny tubes as I don't think the stock fender is adequate. You can find these on the web and paint them yourself... just be sure they come with 4 spacers. Mine also have a 1/4 inch of foam where they may come up against the fender.

Do you have a picture without the AltRider covers installed ?
Could you post a link to the exact Shock Sox you have installed in the pictures ?

I have been using Shock Sox on my Tenere’s for the past 75,000 miles, mine are also the black ones .
Besides the different color the ones Tenere Guy has appear way different than mine that’s why I would like to see an exact link to the ones he installed.

No, I don't believe that I do have a pic or a link. I usually order and forget! I'll try to find one though.
