Would really appreciate hearing back from members who've already tried various tank bags on the S10 and found what they believe is their "keeper".

Requirements:

1. super high in quality design, materials, function (if it exists)
2. Size:12-23L is fine. Prefer something expandable.
3. hopefully easy to remove for gas/stops
4. will spend up for the right bag
5. Quick release or magnetic or straps okay...

now researching Bags-Connection, Wolfman, Givi, factory yamaha, Famsa, larger Cortech bags, Oxford, others...if there is an optional waterproof cover that's helpful too. Mainly just looking for the best in quality and function. I was going to try another magnetic but found posts from some people now switching to quick-disconnect rings, while others prefer strap on bags for off road use, yet several state that a good magnetic is still a great way to go too. I guess there have been improvements the past few years - I don't know. I'm going to start offroadin my S10 a bit more soon, and don't want it to fly off.
Thanks in advance for your recommendation.

Any holy grail tank bags out there? :)

Bags Connection city close to 5 years now and 50+ thousand miles. Moved over from my last bike. Stays put in all conditions. Zippers all still good. Comes with a water proof cover. Add the map case its a very good add on. Don't bother with the powered base have had two fail.

RKA-Luggage.com there InCharge bag meets all the requirements you list and more! Power goes through the bag to the dash where I mounted my iPhone, a GPS and a GMRS radio. It comes with or without power... It is shaped perfectly for the Super Tenere'.
Hmmm I tried to post an image but apparently TapaTalk app has been upgraded. Go to RKA-Luggage.com and you will see it there. Richard & Kathy are great people who make a super product. I've owned quite a few over the years.

Also like the Bags Connection City tank bag. Tank mount quick release is a plus. You can get it Powered or Not. The shape of the Tenere tank limits the amount of storage without going high. The City tank bag can be expanded up if needed. Side pouches are smaller but handle things like tire pressure gauge, a tool or two, Nat'l Park Pass and the like, ear plugs, lip balm, bridge money, survival knife,... It is easy on and off and has a Carry Handle. Map Case is available... I have learned to not have one since it was creating distracted riding.

Overall it is a good tank bag.

Perfect, thanks.

So far the Bags-Connection quick-lock City bag is my default if I cannot find anything else. Definitely high in quality. The new mounting ring setup is nice.

Mine came with the bike from the previous owner so I did not get to compare bags and choose. That said... this is a very solid bag and I really like the quick connect ring system

::026:: I also have the InCharge bag. A couple of things to keep in mind with it is that it does not expand, and there is a large aluminum enclosure inside to help organize additional electronics.

Interested in which Wolfman bag you are selling and "why" you are selling it. Of all the bags, I want to like the Wolfman the most. Tried a few on my KTM 690 Enduro but swapped to more ridged factory tank bag instead, with ease of access to pockets, etc.

Really like the new Wolfman Explorer Lite bag, and Wolf Tail bag and still might buy them if I don't do the BC bags or something else. Tempted to just do the Yamaha factory bag for the tank bag and something else for the rear seat/tail bag.

Been looking at the RKA luggage too, and since they are close to us of course. Would like to just ride down there and fit a few to the bike if they keep any in stock ready for fitment.

I see In the photos, the bags almost seem to lack structure, as if they would flop around without contents in them, but I've never seen them in person. This is the same as how I view the Wolfman bags which I like a lot.

Do you know if they can make the RKA bags without all of that light White color permitter striping and swap in other colors, etc?

Ditto Doug C's experience with the BC City bag, except I have just over 80k on mine, including an IBR and multiple endurance rallies. I prefer the older style mount, but yes, the powered version didn't hold up well and become intermittent. Zero issues with the bag itself.

I don't know how much customizing they can do, but I do know that the bag is reasonably stiff and structured. Most of the movement I have experienced is when I need to snug the straps.

hi Tim,

that sounds great. Need to find some riders in common for sure. Only had my bike for a short time. Also, I noted one of the co-founders here on the rides an S10 I guess. Also, I see a guy riding around Folsom periodically on a Matt Gray S10 too. Hope to catch him next time, was going the opposite direction on my enduro last time I saw him. Just got my Altrider skid plate and crash bars mounted up, finishing up on some bags and looking forward to doing some rides now that the heat wave is over. If you guys have some sort of online group or forum circles, please forward the info and we'll meet up some time. Thanks!

Bags Connection bags (specifically the BC City Bag) is hard to beat. Well made, lots of compartments, effortlessly mounts/dismounts from the bike. Also will not mess up your paint job. Only touches your tank in one small spot and it's easy enough to put piece of paint protector there.
