I have noticed a little jerkiness on slow 1st and 2nd. And there have been problems going from 3rd to 4th. I had to do it twice. This has happened 5 or 6 times. Do you all think this is a break in thing? I'll tell dealer if it keeps happening.
Do you have it in sport mode? If so, switch to touring and that will go away. Switch is right below the starter. You could also do a reflash, but why spend money on a fix you can do with a simple push of a button? If you have it in touring mode... well I dunno - I don't have that problem.

As for mine...
Mine does stall off idle, I've had a bunch of mornings where I pull back and ride off the center stand, only to have it die on me. When you're standing on the pegs, this means a quick foot down or a dropped bike (luckily I've only had the former happen) but I'm going to have the throttle bodies checked when it goes in for its 6k service this weekend. I've had no issues with the tcs or the abs while riding, though I did stall going up a loose hill, did a k turn and was trying to walk the bike down, and the ground was so loose I was sliding the whole way... I'm scared to think what would happen if I tried to ride it down because I'd have no brakes. Not in my skill set.

Tenere Envy !!!!! I can't imagine a better bike for up here, and for the kind of riding I do. I wrecked my first one, and immediately went out and bought another one. There is a neat little Canadian half hour motorcycle TV show called Motorcycle Experience. Yesterday, their test ride of the week was the Tenere ES. Got great reviews. The selected rider was a high profile KTM rider. He said he was pleasantly surprised at the Tenere. About the only negative he found was that when he engaged the clutch, the gear indicator went blank. Bummer. Have to live with it, I guess. R

The gear indicator needs the clutch engaged to work because the brain box calculates what gear you're in by using speed and rpm. Maybe not the best setup, but a very small complaint for me.

Rem, that changes automatically when you pull the lever near the left handlebar grip. It then changes from a gear indicator to a clutch indicator. When you see this --- that means you have the clutch lever pulled in. Pretty thoughtful of Yamaha, I thought. ;D

1700 miles, locked into 46 mpg in S-mode. Next tank I'll go back to T-mode and see if it goes up. 62 mpg WOW.
He's in the UK where a gallon is different, so that's 52 mpg in US gallons. Still better than I get in T mode, I calculated 46 mpg, which would be 55 mpg in imperial gallons.

OK, time to eat a little crow! I followed up on the suggestions to sync the throttle bodies, with a little research and ran across the thread http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=1973.0. I adjusted the air screws (or whatever) as suggested, and my off-idle stumbles are fixed. I haven't stalled out on the bike in at least a week now, and I'm quite sure that TCS had nothing to do with the trouble I was having. I never did sync the throttle bodies as the screw adjustment solved the problem. So, now I'm going to ::021::

No crow GDI!
But do know that it is very unlikely you will have any unique malady that hasn't been seen, heard, and resolved here.
That bike is gonna just keep improving for the first few thousand miles even if you do nothing but ride it. I promise.

Please do check your spokes though. Especially the rear. Don't over analyze them. Just tighten anything that feels loose. And loose means pretty loose.....like easy to tighten with little effort.

Other than that, just ride.

It has been recommended for years. And I don't think anyone has found the outcome negative.

After Ac flashed my ECU I am convinced Yamaha should do the right thing and keep building these bikes, but get rid of all the politically correct restrictions.
T mode is getting me a smooth 50+ MPG at highway speed, as long as you don't run it like you stole it.
May as well throw MPG out the door in S mode pure Hooligan HP. You can feel this big beast pull you back from a dead stop, reminds me of a big bore 2 stroke!! ::26::
But still with a steady right wrist and I mean steady this thing is touchy I can still pull 48 MPG to 50. :p
