Not many bikes can make that claim with just a bulb burning out after 30k......

It's a known issue. I also had to replace the right headlight bulb around 30K.

It's those damned OEM bulbs!

I'm going to change my bulb with Amsoil bulbs. Better mileage & the bulbs never have to be replaced!

You did have an aftermarket filter over that bulb didn't you?

Make sure to steep the Amsoil bulbs in kerosene overnight. ::015:: ::003::

I bought 3 pairs of headlight bulbs so I had some spare when I got the bike. 17k miles later and neither bulb has blown yet. What a waste of money!

We should start a survey and see how often this happens then prepare a report for yamaha. Maybe need to warn prospective buyers as well. Don't want the other forums to find out though otherwise they will make fun of us.

Would it have been better if you used synthetic oil? LOL
