Honda has always made good V-4s but lately I am not terribly impressed. First you have the VFR 1200, a sportbike that weighs more than the Tenere. Then you have the Crosstour at well over 600lbs, no thanks. I would appreciate the new 1200 V-4 more if it had better reports but from what I have read feelings are mixed. I loved the Magnas, Sabres, and VFRs of the past but each of those seemed to be more purpose built. Today's Crosstour, is it an adventure bike or a adventure styled tourer? Is the VFR a sport-bike or a Sport Tourer? The VFR certainly didn't dethrone the Concours and won't be a replacement for any of the liter sport-bikes. I don't imagine the Crosstour will dethrone anything either.
These bikes pose a question, is it a good thing that Honda s thinking outside the box, or is it the answer to the question no one asked like the BMW boosted brake system?
