anyone have a leak ?
I've got a coolant stain on my belly pan @ each oil change. It's from the weep hose. So far it hasn't visibly effected my coolant level, so I just keep tabs on it. I will get it on record with my dealership when I go in for the next big service towards the new year. I am intimately familiar with the inner workings of the Yamaha water/oil seal at the pump. Rebuilt the one on my Royal Star. Quite the bit of tech.

Clean and dry the engine and then apply powdered foot spray. You'll be able to find the leak this way and I think I attended a Suzuki class where they outlined the technique

Without going out to look at the bike, are there any hose clamps near where you see the drop that may need to be tightened?
Nope, the hose is a tension fit right on the nipple for the weep hole. The Royal Star only had a weep hole. You had to stand on your head to see where the stain down the case was coming from. As long as the oil and the water are staying on their sides of the seal, I can deal with a stain on my pan. Though, as noted, I'll be getting it on record at the next big service.

Mine has the same weep. Just a drop or so every few days. The dealer said that this in not normal on the other bikes and 4 wheelers services so in his opinion it should not drip.
He has ordered the replacement mechanical seal for it and if I ever stop riding it long enough to bring it in he is going to replace it.

I know this is an old topic but I just wanted to add a data point.

Today while changing the oil, I noticed some coolant had been leaking from the water pump breather hose onto the inside of the skid plate. It appeared to be a small leak and everything (today) was dry, just some old coolant residue on the hose and skid plate. Current mileage is 5600.

I'm not really concerned at this point but will be keeping an eye on it.

Just to add another data point...

Mine has had a minor drip since new. Just barely enough to show up in the reservoir level in the last 8500 miles. I pointed it out today while I had the bike at the dealer for the headlight harness recall and Yamaha approved replacement of the mechanical seal, oil seal and impeller.

Just wanted to add my data point w/2014... Just changed the oil last week in preparation for a long trip in a couple weeks and there was a leaking area on the inside of the skid plate that obviously is coming from the weep hole/hose... On the ST1300, the manual was updated to state some coolant weeping is normal so I assume that's the same here. No oil that I can see, just a dried dirty stain so nothing dramatic.

In 47,000+ miles I have never seen a drip from the weep hole hose.

Had mine rebuilt under warranty at around 1200 miles. Oil was dripping.

I had an '06 FZ1 and I replaced the pump impeller shaft, bearings and seals on that myself (no warranty). It was common issue with "Gen 2" FZ1s. Hope it doesn't end up common with S10, too (although I think they've been around long enough it would have raised it's ugly head by now).
