I do have a KLR but it doesn't have a 685 kit and doesn't use any oil either maybe the two are related since this is not my first KLR and my other two also did not use any oil, the oil light on the super ten is an oil level light as well as a pressure light, if it flickers on while riding your bikes gonna need to be topped up, its a fairly simple idea but seems to work on most modern bikes without fail and most seem to be happy with the way it works inc many in Europe with thousands of miles on their bikes!
excuse our ignorance of basic bike maintenance but you seem to be looking for a problem or expecting it rather than excepting the majority of riders see no problem with the warning light system or the way its set to test before you hit the starter, you say you have seen
two bikes that dont show lights?
maybe they are the ones with the problem
p.s. In my store and by the people i ride with im known as the "
tire pressure nazi"
