Just installed the Vizi-Tec SupaBrake (Brake Light Smart Modulator).

The installation is much easier than what is shown on Page 1.
-Remove the seat.
-The fuel tank does not have to be removed (just the mounting bolt).
-The aluminum bracket that is unbolted and moved out of the way is the mount for the rear of the fuel tank and the cable / latch for the seat.
-I did but... not sure if the two center 10mm nuts needed to be removed.
-The plastic tray does have to be removed... one plastic fastener and two ears... the ears are toward the front on each side and the plastic fastener is toward the rear in the center. Simple.
-The connector bundle is in a rubber boot. Slide it back to exposed the connector(s). Find the connector that looks like the one on the smart modulator and separate it. Install the SupaBrake, male to female, and reverse the installation.

I am not the sharpest spoon in the drawer and could have completed this installation in 15 minutes.

Bernard was easy to deal with. Shipping was fast. Very good deal even at full price.

I just installed mine and it was even easier. Did not even have to touch the tank.

- Remove the seat
- Remove the two 10mm nuts that secure the seat latch & cover (next to the rear tank hinge bolt) and remove the seat latch cover.
- Move the seat latch assembly (cable still connected) so it is out of it's hole.
- Remove the plastic tray, there is one plastic screw and two tabs at the forward end. You have to snake it out a bit around the bottom of the tank mount and thru the now disconnected seat latch.
- Connect the Vizi-Tech to the connector in the rubber boot.
- Assembly is the reverse.
- Less than 10 minutes. No need to mess with the tank or its mounts.

Steve, thought the same about the tank but I was following instructions. One good thing was the rear tank bracket is aligned properly.

Glad to hear bernard is still treating his customers + us folks with S10's well! I just wish it was a mod that I could see and not everyone else BUT me!

It is up on the site just now at the price of $59 with free shipping. http://www.vizi-tec.com/products/yamaha.html

If you are committed enough to wait just a bit, a group buy is in the works. The group buy price will be $49 + $2.50 shipping in the US, or $4.50 shipping international for the first 6 confirmed buyers. After 6, it would change and I'd need to be the ring leader on shipping it out. If you are interested please make note here and then based on that I will start a separate thread, or maybe see if Vizi-tec would want to be a sponsor and start it in the vendors area.

Thanks gang...As always ride safe. ::003::
How did I not see this for 3 months - Can I still get in on this. I like those flashy rear brake lights.

oops, never mind. I didn't realize it was a limited time or quantity discount - I'll order from the site - Like someone said, even the non-discounted price is very fair. ::008::

I placed the order - I've had led brake flashers on my BMW -
I felt it was way over priced though, but my thought was that the cost is worth the attention getting flashes.

the easy install makes it worth it!! took my seat off, bent up the corner of the plastic cover thingy, plugged the unit in, put seat back and all done. did not take longer than 3 minutes - no cutting, splicing, taping etc. nice clean professional install ::008::

Got mine today and installed it. No issues except an extended delay with USPS, but I finally got it. I also took a little extra time to apply some dielectric silicone on the other connectors as well.

I'm a happy camper ::003::

Got mine this morning and had it installed in about 15 minutes. Works just as advertised and the plug and ride part is miles ahead of the splicing or tapping involved with other flashing brake lights.

Just ordered one for 'Max' at the website listed here.
$60 with free shipping. Love that free shipping even if it's built in to the price it's nice-!!
It seems like a lot of $ for it's size but good things come in tiny packages and the R&D adds up not to mention I haven't yet found out what I am worth to my family; probably a lot more than $60 (I hope). I agree with somebody here about not being able to see it work, ha ha.
Best to all,
-DT

::022::

Got it today from the USPS man.

::008:: FIRST thanks very much to Karson for his post that has pictures in it unlike my post .... ::008::

I guess Bernard is a busy fellow as he is turning off his site for a couple weeks to play catch up on orders ... but from Hawaii ... hmmmmm. JUST KIDDING Bernard.

Bernard was easy to deal with. Shipping was fairly fast, but OK by me. He admitted up front it could be slightly delayed. It took ten days total and I bet he gets faster once caught up, maybe he got swamped with orders. Only he knows ... I feel it is a very good deal even at the price I payed (straight off his website with PayPal) and "free shipping".

If it works as advertised in the enclosed operation "manual" (8"x10" white paper one-sided) I am going to be very happy. I had no idea when I ordered what it could be set to do (knocking wood)
Very slick, very impressed. I have never had anything other than plain old brake lights so I feel a little bit safer now. What he has done to make it "better" than a simple brake flasher is pretty impressive to me. As somebody said we won't be able to see it working. Guess we could rig a camera to shoot the back end of the bike for a few miles in city traffic etc.

I thought also I he said something about this one I got being a smaller unit-? Maybe a newer packaged version - maybe he just meant what he ships it out in. I can't find the note to check on that. Bernard-??
I measure 18" from end of connectors. The unit is aprox. 1.5" x 7/8" x 5/16" or 38mm x 24mm x 8mm aprox. With the wires coiled up it would hide under a $50 bill. Yellow, black and red on one side to yellow, black and white on the other side, not that it really matters as it is plug and plug.

Ah ha, I just got a email from the man Bernard and it is a newer smaller case. He also said he is catching up on orders and re-doing his website. Nice.

Not sure why I am writing this as I think it has been said. I suppose it's just nice to find a product like this from a newer business run by a very decent man IMO. Looking forward to perhaps more from Vizi-tec in the future.

Best,
DT

NOT THE THREAD but my post certainly is worthless without pictures - !!!!

I too installed the Vizitec Brake Light Modulator. Thanks for the instructional info and pictures. I agree with others saying that Bernard was helpful, prompt and reasonably priced ::026::. I think the modulator does a lot for my safety in traffic.

I guess I'll be reviving this thread. Hopefully for a good reason.

Just installed SupaBrake on my S10. I had BackoffXP on both my Kawasaki's, and while I loved the effectiveness - the reason I now opted for SupaBrake is the flexibility: multiple profiles (vs. only 2 in BackoffXP) and no need for rewiring to switch between them (programming is done via a simple process without touching the unit). But with choice comes the need to make a decision: which of the 10 (or 11) profiles are you using with your SupaBrake? I found profile #2 to be the most effective for me - but haven't had a chance to see other drivers' reaction on the road or try other profiles yet. I'd love to hear your take on this. If you developed a personal profile that you found to be more effective - please share.

Thanks

Shaq

Haven't played with the other modes. Left it on the default. Just wanted a little flash to get the drivers attention and it seems to do its job.

I just installed the Vizitec on my Tenere and FJR last week. They are currently in the default position since there was no instructions with the units. I have since downloaded and printed off the manual and hope to play with some other preset options. It looked good with the Tenere's LED tail lights but with the FJR I felt the factory set option flash speed is too fast for the incandescent bulbs.

You can select a profile with a slower flash rate for the FJR. I prefer Profile #2 for my Tenere with LED lights.

IMO the Vizitec is a must-have addition to any bike. The cost is very reasonable, and the flash sequence logic is the best available.
