Worked with Bernard from Vizitec (great guy to work with) and developed a plug and play kit for our S10's. From start to finish, the install maybe took 5 minutes and the only tools needed are a 10mm, 12mm socket and philips head screwdriver. The 12mm is only for the long bolt connecting the seat locking mechanism to the tank.

Here is the unit itself with the plug and play wire adapters

Here is where you'll break out the sockets and phillips head screwdriver. Remove the 4 short bolts, 1 long bolt, and the 2 nuts.

With removal complete, here is a picture of the brake light harness connectors exposed.

Supabrake nicely tucked away.

Congratulations - bolt everything back up in reverse order and you're good to go! While not as intrusive as headlight modulators to oncoming drivers vision, brakelight modulators are a nice safety measure to protect oncoming vehicles from not seeing you from behind.

When you hit the brake the light flashes off and on for a few seconds, i installed a Backoff on a friends bike works the same way. ::008:: ::026::

Exactly. I don't know if Backoff has any sort of algorithm built in, or if it just flashes every time you hit the brake. The Supabrake has a sliding time algorithm built in where if you're stuck in slow moving traffic it won't flash until after 12 seconds of no brake usage, and depending on how long after 12 seconds you reapply the brake, it determines how many flashes it puts out 3, 5, or more...depending on time. Kind of neat, I guess it's an anti-annoyance feature ;)

I pulled in a small discount b/c I helped fabricate them with the connector wiring for the S10 and reviewed some draft install documentation for Vizi-tec, but I think they can be had for ~$60. Regardless of whether or not that came into play, I was going to help them make one for the S10.

In all fairness, one could do 6 splices on the bikes wiring and use their universal flasher, but this way is much, much cleaner.

I pinged Bernard asking when he might get the site updated with it showing as available for the S10. Keep your eye's peeled and check back here or vizi-tec.com...

Great guy to work with - throughout the whole process of development I was never asked to pay until I received it and verified it was fully functional post-install.

Maybe you can check and see if he's willing to cut us a group buy deal to launch his product?! ;D thanks for working with him to get it developed.

No problem...I came from an '09 KLR where there was an aftermarket product for almost every piece of the bike. The S10, being new and whatnot, sometimes has a limited supply of aftermarket solutions. And even if there is an aftermarket solution, sometimes because of low demand it ends up costing mucho $.

I'll inquire about a group buy and see what they can do. If it might work out, I'll put a official forum topic out there.

It might be a good idea to maybe have this be a feeler thread if anyone else is interested so all parties aren't picking cherries with their back to the tree when it comes down to talking numbers...

I like this and would be up for a perceived discount via a introductory group buy.

I too used Hyperlights before and think they're fantastic despite that they are a stick-on item with generic wiring.

The Vizitec wiring looks as simple as can be with no stick-on components involved. I wonder if there are any DOT concerns?

Karson - I hope you follow through with this.

Thanks,
Boondocker

It only took me 2 years and 2 bikes that came and went before I took the plunge.

When I signed up for this forum, there weren't any threads in any forums. ::025::

I hope Karson can work out a group buy for this item for us.

It's still not listed on the vizi-tec.com website yet, but I guess it should be shortly from the e-mail I just got.

We'll get a discounted rate of $59 + Free shipping. Normally they're anywhere from $70-73.

Just keeping all interested parties in the loop... ::008::
