As some of you know, I have had a problem with bad handle bar vibrations. Today they went away... With a little help. ::025::
First I would like to thank Tabasco for all the help and selling me the correct parts. He is a great vendor and will keep getting my business.
I purchased the Leo Vince, , and Arrow headers. The can was dropped shipped to my house. Jaxon got the headers and welded the SS bung in when he got back from the Big Bend trip. I installed the can and PCV over the weekend.

Today I rode to Tabasco's shop and we installed the headers and Auto Tune and Optimizer. He did all of this and didn't want my first born male child. You can't beat that.

Now to the vibes.. When the work was done and I took the bike for a ride, I could not believe what happened. The vibes were reduced to a very acceptable level. Almost non existent.
Instead of being obnoxious to the point of making me want to sell the bike, they were now a much higher frequency. Like I said, almost gone.
I think I'll keep the bike.. ::025::

Now the part, that is as good. The combination of hardware that was installed made the bike run like a scalded ape..
I can't believe how much better this thing runs. It is like having the bike I thought I was buying in the first place.
And as Tabasco has said, it will only get better with the Auto Tune.

This bike is unfreaking believable.

Mines 6000 and the vibes got better as the miles add up

::026:: Mine has smoothed out noticeably as well. I think my last trip to the mountains where I flogged the crap out of it helped a lot to break her in.

Japako, I'm glad you're finally getting to enjoy your new bike. With your mods and some more miles, that should be one smooth machine.

Congratulations Jim, now you understand why we (the other folks that have the same mods) are bloating so much about it. ::020::

It definately transforms the whole bike beyond compare!

Enjoy! ::003::

I wonder how this affects the resonance that happens while accelerating in the lower (2500 - 3500) RPM range specifically. I'm working on getting the Arrow header on order (complete with 'bung'). I think what I'll do first is install just the header with the stock silencer, before hooking-up the PCV to see if maybe the cats were contributing to the resonating. I remember I had an early VW Scirocco that did that. Is there a disable switch that nulls or bypasses the PCV output? If so, maybe one of you dudes who are already tricked-out can check what effect the PCV/AT map vs OEM map has. I realize that no one variable can be change in a vacuum, but the results might be interesting.

Fitting the Akra already made a hughe difference to the resonance (see my other topic on that), it was as good as gone.

AH, I must have missed that part. Fitting the 'Akra' (silencer) did it for you huh? I would have thought the headers were the culprit. That's interesting. You just saved me the extra work ::008:: Thanks!

No, I was wrong, my apologies, I did not post that on this forum, but in another (Dutch) forum. Here I only posted that in combination with the PC V install... I have too many media to keep track of...

Prior to installing the PC V I had the Akra fitted, and needed to wait a few weeks to have the PC V fitted. Just fitting the Akra alone was enough to make the resonance go away.

I'm not saying that fitting Arrow headers / other modas will not have the same effect. Just sayin that when I fitted the Akra the resonances were gone. Like our money to Greece... and Italy..... and... :D ::025::

I can't remember who it was but a member of this forum posted about getting his ass handed to him when he raced against his buddy's GS. I wonder if he's since done this mod and, if so, how he would fair now??

::026:: I went with the Leo Vince and kept the standard header with the same (great) results reported by Blue_eyes. I've used after market slip-on's on other bikes but don't remember feeling as much of a difference as this one did to the S10 (I know, Rod, we keep tempting you!). I may still replace the header and add a PCV at some point in the future but have no firm plans at this point. It would be icing on the (great) cake I'm already enjoying.
