I remember back in the day how dainty the trials bikes looked. Compared to the little Gas Gas things today those old Sherpa T's look like monster hulks! Very cool bikes. I went to a little museum here near OKC last Sunday and they had a lot of old Spanish stuff. Montesas (including some Cota 125s), Ossas and Bultacos. Felt like I was 15 again! 8)

Just sold my 03 DL1000....very bittersweet.... Surprised how upset I was.
Had a lot of good memories (and NO problems) with that bike. Not mention I had it thoroughly dialed.
*SIGH*
The only good therapy now is to start ordering some SERIOUS farkles!!

Hi Vince,

Sure thing. Just get it here to IL and put it on the sales floor at our dealer and I'll take care of the rest. ;D

Seriously, as soon as it starts warming up and ths sun starts shining regularly, you will see bike sales start to go again.

Good luck

Thanks, I sure hope when the weather warms there will be buyers like you said, I really don't want it around into May. I do have it on Craigslist and I'm going to ride it to work and let it sit out with a for sale sign on it. My dealer has offered a consignment sale but I'm giving it a go myself first to see what happens.

It is tough to sell during the off season. The only way to get attention is to offer a low price or really cool farkles. Like Fred said, now that Spring is in the air, more buyers will be looking.

Indeed, Navy. I have noticed that there are a few other sailors on here, as well. I think I saw that ColoRider served on the USS Midway?

1961-1964 NAAS Ream Field (Imperial Beach, CA) - after boot camp and Radioman A school.
1965-1966 NavCommSta Guam (got my first bike there)
1966-1968 U.S.S. Piedmont AD17 (San Diego-Westpac)

Anyone else ride around on Guam? I wouldn't mind going back to visit one day, but probably would suffer from 'future shock'.

I have sold two bikes since ordering the S10.

'08 DRZ400SM
'07 Bandit 1250S

Motard sold in a weeks time the Bandit took 4 months to sell.

Good thing is insurance on both bikes was cancelled with a refund, tags were turned in for a credit. With what I got out of both bikes and a little saving in 5 months time on my part my Super Tenere will be paid for when I go to pick it up. ;D

In the meantime I have been limited to riding my B-King, not a bad thing but certainly not an everyday bike. With gas high right now I could really use the S10 for my 46 mile work commute.

Not to get back on topic , :) but that is how my sales worked out. Cancelled insurance on two bikes and got a bit of a refund. After selling my two bikes, the S10 is paid for and I have a few thousand for farkles. Still trying to make a final decision on luggage and then I am ready to start ordering.

I too am in the process of deciding on luggage. Well I have decided ;D looks like I will go OEM everything. Not too concerned about bag sizes or lock issues. But I do want them to look like they came on the bike. Experince from other bikes is you can over load these things pretty quick with large bags and out the door goes your handling and safety. I am not rock crawling on mine so OEM skid plate will be fine. No top case for me swore I wouldn't do that to another motorcycle after the last 3.

In a way shopping for it is fun but in a way it is getting me all worked up and I still have NO bike. :'(

This is my plan as well OEM side cases and skid plate no top case and no off road. I want the skid plate to protect the oil filter and underneath from road debris. This will be the very first bike I've owned with side bags or cases of any kind I'm looking forward to it. I'm keeping the extras to a minimum to save dollars and I love the bike as is more will come I guess after I log some miles starting in July it look like now. ???

One thing about purchasing Yamaha stuff with the bike:

You will pay sales tax on purchase.
Might add to license fee for tags (?)

I'm still trying to decide on accessories also, but probably not much OEM stuff - too many options available on internet.
