Well, I got tired of waiting for all the suspension tuners to come to market with kits for the front forks and so I went ahead with a Traxxion AK20 cartridge kit for the bike. I figured since I go through so many bikes, I might as well spend the money for the AK20 cartridge kit which I could later use on another bike with maybe another $150 or so in parts for that new ride. I could then reinstall the stock Yamaha fork internals when I part with the S10.
I was first told they had the AK20 kit in stock and asked Traxxion to send it up to me for as I would install it. Later that day, I got a call back from Traxxion saying "we dont have the final details for the kit, but if you send us your forks we'll install the kit free of charge". Grrrrrrrrr...I am a guinnea pig again. Damn. On top of being the guinnea pig, the last thing I wanted to do was to ship the forks down and back and absorb that cost. In the end, Traxxion said send the forks down and we will pay for the return shipping. Ok, forks are linear and fairly easy to setup, lets try being the guinnea pig again. So the deal was struck.
Forks where shipped to Traxxion on 4/10, they arrived on 4/12 and they were back in my possesion with their AK 20 cartridge installed on 4/19. I have yet to install them back on the bike. I will post some ride impressions probably after the weekend.
I will say they were absolutely perfectly packaged for their return shipping ride back to me and my stock fork internals were completely degreased and placed into a heat sealed plastic bag in perfect condition. Nice attention to detail.
