Would I be able to mount these under the headlamp with a Rumbux crash bar? Or does the bar come in the way? I love the look of these lights under the headlamp!

I bought the PIAA kit with mounting brackets from my Yamaha dealer and love them. When I start the bike they come on, they work with high and
low beams and the switch is mounted on the dash to turn them off if needed. Sweet!

The Rumbux bar would block the OEM mounting points, so the answer is no. But you could mount them to the Rumbux.

I was out testing my new HID headlights the other night and it brought home again the strength of the Piaas. I can have them aimed with my low beam, which has a very flat cutoff, and they add a lot of brightness and depth running at 100 percent without bothering oncoming traffic at all thanks to their very focused beam.

This is what I did on my SW Motech crash bars........

I thought I will share my DIY weekend project with you all. I have been researching quite a while to do this right. Time will tell if it is ok.

I have a switch on the handlebar to switch on and off as required. The wiring was also done on the ignition so no worries with regard to a flat battery.

The Orange covers are used to be more visible to other road users.

I bought them in South Africa from a retailer Wild @ Heart - Cape Town.

Is there any difference in the wiring involved between buying the separate components vs the kit?

I bought a kit off Amazon, and the bar brackets as well. The wiring seemed incredibly small until noticing that the fuse in the harness was 2 amps.
Using a PC-8 fuse block, a relay and some advice from this forum, I wired them to come on with high beams, there is also an on/off switch. These have been on the bike all season and do exactly what I was hoping for.... draw comments from other drivers about how eye-catching they are.

I can't comment on the kit wiring as I've never seen it.

Wiring up the Amazon-sourced 530LPs is very straightforward. As they can be run full power without blinding oncoming traffic when aimed to supplement the low beams, I wired mine independently with their own switch and have them on all the time. Great lights...
