that is one cool looking bike! I would love to have one of those too! I don't know if this is true but I read that on the scene of the Great Escape Steve McQueen did a lot of the shots on the bikes and even was dressed as the Germans in the chase scene because the stunt riders could not keep up with him. he would not use a BMW because it didn't have enough power. So they fixed an other bike to look like a BMW. Didn't work for me. Any way the producers would not let him do the jump scene and they had Bub Ekins do that job. One night the stars stayed on the set drinking and after everybody was gone Steve McQueen, James Coburn and a couple others I cant remember just who that was all decided to do the jump just out there goofing off. I guess they all were good riders or thought they were while drinking! haha. Just some fun info. Not sure if it is all true or not. Just read it.
