I have a Kaoko on my 08 KLR and personally don't care for it nearly as much as the much cheaper Vista Cruise. The Vista is a simple flick of the thumb and it is locked, while the rolling back action of the Kaoko is not so much of a one flick action. I have also had the engagement ring on the Kaoko gradually vibrate toward the closed position while riding. It didn't lock the throttle, but I would notice that gradually the throttle was getting harder to turn. Of course, the ultimate is the electronic cruise control like the one I installed on my ST1300 and there is a guy in Australia that is working out the details of fitting one to the S10. If that works out, I will go that route. But, getting back to throttle locks, if the electronic cruise turns out to not be practical, I'll first try to see if a Vista Cruise can be fitted. I also had a Throttlemeister on a previous ST1300 and it wasn't as easy to use as the Vista Cruise, so not my choice either.
I will be selling my KLR, but the Kaoko model on it will not fit the S10, so I will have to fit something else. Kaoko's are fine if you like them, but in my case, I will only use one if nothing else works for me.
