@ballisticexchris I was going to say that your comments about how the E07's work wasn't true, but then I realized I put most of my comments in the "lowsided" thread.
- I'm not a fan of the E-07 rear as a road tire for spirited riding, as it doesn't suit my riding style (i.e. leaned over, leg out, motard style) and spins up constantly, TCS light flashing
- To be fair, I'm comparing it to the Anakee III where I never had this situation
- I've had a couple of truly dicey situations because of it (Ran 3 of them, E-07, E-07 Dakar, E-07+), behaviour is the same.
- For offroading, I like the tire. Note: I like running logging roads, tight stuff on a 600 lb bike doesn't make a ton of sense. I live where there isn't a lot of sand
- I do think that longevity matters in some circumstance, ex. I'm planning to take off in early July to go North, hopefully all the way to Tuk, and I don't want to swap tires on the trip. So having something that can do gravel, some mud, lots of highway is important.
- To this end, I'm going to try the MotoZ Tractionator GPS as I've heard good things about it.
I've also read a ride report yesterday (on the big ADV site
) where guy was commenting about the E-07+ and what he personally experienced riding to Tuk & back and heard / saw from others. The E-07+ simply doesn't last as long and a lot of people are upset.
Let's face it, a bunch of folks love the old version because they lasted so long and were decent at a number of things (just not right over on the edge
).
