You can toggle temps, I've done it, I'll tell you how - I hit a bunch of buttons on the dash, in some combination or other... ::025::

I'll worry about it when I'm next in a metric country, but if you need to do it you should be able dig up the procedure in the manual somewhere.

Trevor
If there's a procedure in the manual, I haven't found it. :'( Does anyone out there know how to change from F to C?

You wouldn't be pulling my chain, would you Trevor? ;)

I don't believe this is possible on the European and Canadian bikes. Nothing mentioned in the manual. There is no need to as all these countries are purely metric. However, due to the fact that the U. S. is one of the last holdouts on the planet, it is quite possible that the U. S. bikes are able to do this. The manual should tell you how, if it's doable. R

I did it by accident also, but this may work. bring up oat and hold the button down for about 10 sec. It may work. If that doesn't work try holding both buttons?

Sorry Jim, I missed that ... what should I be bringing up?

My apologizes for highjacking this thread.

Thanks guys. ::026::

I'll give it a try.

Mike

Update:
Well I tried every button this way and that and couldn't get the OAT (I'm a quick learner) to change to Celsius. It reads 38F no matter what I do. The thing is, I'm not sure if this is an appropriate riding temp ... feels a little chilly to me. :-[

My O.A.T. today actually moved all the way up to 63 Degrees F. Still think 43 is as low as mine will go. ::001::
63F in Calgary on February 21st ... you're kidding, right? :D

Are the daffodils up yet? ::015::

Thats what it read. It was about 45 degrees F in Calgary. Its certainly not very accurate. The Beamer temp guage was spot on. 1 for the Beamer, 0 for the Yamaha.

Sorry about that, RED CAT ... I couldn't resist. :)

How far is it to your dealer? Would it be cheaper to have a Canadian shop look at it rather than pay the travel cost (time, etc) to have it done under warranty?

I don't think the Beamer's doubles as an EFI sensor. The Tenere's is primarily for Engine Air Intlet Temp input to the ECU, so this is an apples to oranges comparison...especially when you take into account where the sensor is located. ::024::

Sounds like yours should not be stopping a 43 deg F though.

I would have never thought to start comparing the two bikes in that regard..whew, maybe I made an ill-informed purchase >:D :D Yep...BMW one Tenere zero ??? :D

This just in from the Mother Ship:
YAMAHA MOTOR CORPORATION U.S.A. wrote: "Hi Michael. Thanks for your inquiry and welcome to the Yamaha family! We’ve checked with our factory on this question. On the U.S. model the air temperature reading can’t be changed from Fahrenheit to Celsius. If you have any further questions feel free to contact us at (800) 962-7926. Thanks!"

I'll be looking for an after market gauge. :-[
