Mine seems to always read 43 degrees. Is that normal? Thought it would read actual outside air temp.
Well if it never changes at all, you might have a problem. Because of placement of the sensor, you won't see the same temp as outside, but the temp should change.RED CAT said:Mine seems to always read 43 degrees. Is that normal? Thought it would read actual outside air temp.
Is 43 perhaps the lowest it will go?RED CAT said:Mine seems to always read 43 degrees. Is that normal? Thought it would read actual outside air temp.
Good question.Don in Lodi said:Is 43 perhaps the lowest it will go?

Yeah, I suppose a city known worldwide for 'stampeding' might be a bit unique in a few more areas. How aboot it, 'Calgarians' ::015::japako said:43* ::025:: ::025::
So, there we go. If the temp stays fixed @ 43* it's prolly got a bad sensor. As the airbox warms with engine temperature, the temp reading should rise some over ambient. That should be one of the sensors that will effect your mpg as well. It tells the pcm how dense the air is for fuel mix.RED CAT said:Mine seems to always read 43 degrees. Is that normal? That's a point made early on, one of the glitches in an otherwise beautiful machine. They didn't give us a dedicated ambient sensor, boo-hoo. ::010:: Yes, you're right, it is a silly thing to put on the dash. If it's hot or cold you feel it. But, it should be accurate first thing in the morning, thus confirming your... dedication? when it is 22* out side.mcbrien said:Whats the point ? Why would I care what the airbox temp
is while riding down the road ? If it reads a little high I would
feel warmer or hotter depending on the season .

While on the subject of glitches and temperature, I still can't get over the fact that they gave us the ability to toggle between MPH and KPH, but not Degrees-C and Degrees-F. ::010::Don in Lodi said:That's a point made early on, one of the glitches in an otherwise beautiful machine. But it is part of the EFI system and should be working.
Whaaaaaa. Honestly, how long did they think we would continue to bend over for them? Enough is enough, and that's nuff said.RED CAT said:Cdn Dealers apparently arn't happy with us Canukians buying less expensive U.S. bikes. ::009::
You can toggle temps, I've done it, I'll tell you how - I hit a bunch of buttons on the dash, in some combination or other... ::025::DuMar said:While on the subject of glitches and temperature, I still can't get over the fact that they gave us the ability to toggle between MPH and KPH, but not Degrees-C and Degrees-F. ::010::
