Premier Cycle Accessories (PCA) and TechSpec have teamed up to bring the Tenere forum members a special offer during the month of February. TechSpec has introduced a generic protection kit that fits various side cases and top cases that fit the Tenere. These new kits offer great styling and maximum protection against boot scuffs and road debris that can damage your paint job. These kits are offered in several different materials and patterns to customize the look of your bike. Techspec also offers two sizes of Tenere specific gas tank protection/grip kits.

All TechSpec products made for the Yamaha Super Tenere 1200 will be discounted 10% to forum members. We also have reduced shipping cost to $5.00 within the continental US and $16.00 for orders outside the US. If your total product order is more than $99.00 you will receive free shipping (*PCA free shipping offer) within the US. All orders are shipped via USPS. We do not have the capability of automatically changing the normal shipping charges on your order to the reduced amount mentioned above. Please accept the stated shipping charges and we will manually change the shipping charges before your credit card is charged or we collect the funds from your PayPal account. On the checkout page, place the coupon code: TENERE_TS in the coupon window exactly as it is listed here and then press the green Find It button to the right of the coupon box. This should show the discount amount that will be taken off your order. Offer expires 2-28-2013

See the link below for the TechSpec products that are available at 10% off.

Just a quick plug... These are really nice additions to the SuperT. I just bought both products within the last several weeks, but before this discount - DOH!!!

I bought the snake skin versions and really like them. Below is a pic of what they look like on my OEM panniers.

That's fine if you have the time and ability to cut them to shape. Also note that the tech spec are not just die cut, but also chamfered... So more time involved if you want to replicate at home.

Chamfered, oh now I understand why they cost so much. If they were not chamfered that would be a real deal breaker.

I suppose everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

I happen to like the TechSpec product and will likely take advantage of this deal.

Thanks, Duane PCA, for the posting and the discount offer.

We get it. You think they're over-priced. So why doesn't your smart ass cut some of those out and offer a 'realistic' price in the vendor forum?

Listen you little prick I gave an opinion about a product if you have a problem with that it's your problem. Why is it forum members with high numbers think they own these sites. Pitiful!

You guys need to take this level of animosity off of the Forum and feel free to communicate privately to your hearts' content. Differences of opinion are allowed, but outright hostility is not productive, and of very little interest to the rest of us.

I have an excuse for being cranky. It's 2 more months before I can ride !!!!! Let's play nice together.

Thanks. R ::020::

NO! You guys?? Tell the guy with 2175 posts. Every forum is the same, the members with high post numbers think they own the place.

No? NO ??? Jeeze, I thought my wife had snuck on the Forum for a minute. ::025:: Well, according to the little number under my dog's picture, I have about 3,290 post to date, and I certainly don't feel I own the Forum. I don't even own my new motorcycle yet.

Hopefully you guys can agree to disagree, and it won't be necessary to dispatch Vinny and Guido. I'm not sure that gas tank thingys are worth getting so worked up over.

I'll ask my wife. She knows everything. I'll let you know what she says, but you need to be prepared to accept her decision, because she's never wrong.

OK, wife says it's not worth getting worked up over, so that should settle things.

And remember, a man who don't lie ain't got nothin' to say. R

I tend to agree. I was a HUGE proponent of Tech Spec. I have had them on close to 12 bikes. I even ran a group buy for them on the SV forum. Needless to say, I've had quite a bit of experience applying them.

My last set (for my Tenere) was an abomination. The first set wouldn't stay stuck so they sent me a replacement set. That set wouldn't stay stuck either. I wound up having to buy a $15 spray bottle of 3M rubber adhesive at Tech Spec's suggestion just to get them to work.

That was pretty much it for me. Next time I need some tank grips, I'll have to figure something else out.

That's interesting, avc, and unacceptable as well. I hope they sprang for the adhesive. ::024:: My first set stuck like glue through the first half season, and sat on my bike through minus 40 in my garage (ok, it doesn't get much below minus 20 in there), and all through the second season and even survived my accident last September. I have purchased a second set and am waiting for warmer weather to put them on. If I get the same level of performance as the first set, I'll consider it a decent investment. If not, I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow some hot air, and then go kill some spiders. And never buy them again. So we'll see. I'll let you know. R ::26::

I had the same experience as ac. They told me to purchase the same adhesive to stick them on.

Ha! Fack NO...and THAT is why I am "done".

If they refunded the cost of the adhesive I'd be singing praise.

I did two things before application, stripped every bit of wax off the tank, and made sure the surface temp was up with a heat gun. I'm a proponent.

I donate to the site's maintenance, so I do own a very very tiny sliver...

I'm not sure if there's some luck involved with application, but I just made sure the area was VERY clean (I think I may have given that area of the tank a wipe with alcohol), and carefully worked the pads on from one end to the other. I even pulled one off and re-stuck it when I got the alignment wrong. 25,000 miles later, they are still there. No complaints.
