TCS Settings vs HP/Throttle Response

In an effort to find 1200cc worth of power out of this bike, I have been playing with every button I can find.

It has been "confirmed" that the US model has throttle "restrictions" in gears 1-3.

It appears TCS1 is a bit more "proactive" and cuts power/throttle response BEFORE the wheel even starts spinning. I think that setting is giving us maximum "restriction" in the lower gears to try to prevent ALL wheel spin.

TSC2 seems to lighten up a bit. Throttle reponse in the lower gears is better, and power seems stronger.

TSC OFF? I pulled a wheelie. Throttle response feels direct, like my wrist opens the throttle bodies. Power feels stronger. I'm not convinced we have any "restriction" in the lower gears with TCS OFF.

Anyone able to "prove" or at least corroborate these claims?

...I mostly ride with TC off in "S" mode - when I ride solo...

I tend to agree with you -- but I have yet to ride Fredz hot rod down near St Louis.

was hoping to throw a leg over his and take a spin to get the seat of pants dynometer -- but he didn't get to Moonshine, sadly.

Personally, I love my scoot just like it is and its currently running like a spinning top. Why change it.

The vibe at 3K isn't THAT annoying to me anyway.

I probably won't even change the exhaust on this one.

No. There is still power restrictions with TC off even in S Mode. S10 is supposed to have 108hp. My pal on his 2008 GS12 with 105hp walks away from me in the 1st 3 gears.

The only problem with that is both of those ratings are crank HP. A lot can happen between the output shaft and the rear tire/road.

Interesting.

Have a dyno center near you? You could make a couple of pulls to find out.

Yeah, I COULD. I gotta talk to my buddy at a "local-ish" shop. Too bad dynos are so expensive!

A couple of folks have posted dyno results. Seems to me the one most talked about was German. Try a search.

Try reading the ecu flash threads, there's more than enough proof in there,
I did. I don't see any "proof" in there of the difference betwen the TCS settings.
There is a TON of proof that the EU ECU has restrictions in 1-3, and some proof that the US does too (but maybe a lesser extent). I can't find ANYTHING about the different TCS settings.
