It's a judgment call - by the forum owner, I don't see much traffic diverted due to this, just a VERY few members.

1.99 x thousand is great, but what forum do you pay part of that to? Since the app allows you to view thousands of forums w/plugin installed?

If all my members started using that, I might be more concerned but I'm not... also, tapatalk is coming out with future ad-ons which include inserting ads.

I have another upgrade planned soon since they just released a new version of this software. As part of that I'll throw Tapatalk on. It's worth a shot, and as Mellow states it can always be turned back off if need be.

Are you still considering Tapatalk? I would use it almost daily on my IPhone

I am. I know I keep talking about an upgrade and it's now over due. I have new versions of the core software, the media gallery, the member map, Tapatalk, and a few other things waiting in the wings for an upgrade. I'm feeling forum-motivated lately, so probably in the next 2 weeks I will do the upgrade.

I've never heard of ForumRunner. What's your take?
I like both. I don't really have a favorite. I just mentioned in case it is an option.

I've been using Taptalk for a while it's $1.99 I think? It works fine, don't know the ramification of losing adds or not. I watch several forums never had a problem with it. I do enjoy seeing and reading what you guy's are doing. I'm not much of a tech guy don't even know how to post pics. Other side of that is don't much care! I'm sure you will all make the right choice!

I vote for TapaTalk.
For $1.99 it makes even the large forums manageable, your can even moderate with TapaTalk.

I know nothing about this stuff. AT ALL! I know I can use my Iphone to check out the FJRforum and I never downloaded any apps. does anyone know how that works? It is a moble version of the forum, easy to navigate.

Venture, if you search for WAP in the simple machines docs you may find some built in functionality.

Well, looks like the Tapatalk Plugin was added few day ago. Much thanks, Venture! Using the forum from my smart phone is so much easier now.

Yeah, I sprung the $1.99 for the app and now can access on my Droid "a little" easier.

Good to have, overall!

A couple of sites that I frequent have been hacked thru Tapatalk... Passwords have been compromised and site admins accounts were hacked. Admins of this site you might want to change your passwords if you use Tapatalk.

Ok, so I see how to use the wap2 version, just navigate to that url. Easy enough.

What would Tapatalk do for me that wap2 won't? How does one go about using it? I presume you buy the app through your phone's marketplace and then tell the app what forum you want?

Thanks

There's a free version of it available that will give you a feel for how it operates. The full version is a few bucks.

I personally don't use it, but I try not to do anything but surf from my smartphone. I can't stand posting from anything but a real keyboard. I know people though who manage to live their entire life off their smartphones and for those folks it's invaluable.
