Hi again, is this tool specific for the xtz as i can only find one similar for the yamaha r1 here in the uk.
I don't know for sure if the tool I used is specific to the Super Tenere, or if it will work on other headsets. The OEM Yamaha part number for their steering head wrench is 90890-01403 (that's from the S10 service manual), I did do some quick internet research and found a tool on Amazon offered by a company called Tri Diesel that is supposed to be compatible with the Super Tenere, The tool had a compatibility chart which listed the following bikes:

R1 is included in that list, so I imagine if a headset wrench is made to fit an R1, it should fit a Super Tenere.
I also found an OEM Yamaha tool offered for sale on Webike (
