Agree, Yammer Hammer could build one version of the bike and as long as it complies with the countries they sell them to, one would think it would be more economical.Feel free to complain to the US politicians and Federal Dept of Transportation. We do. No success so far.
I'll never understand why Yamaha and other companies don't just make "World" products. You would think that the savings from having only one version would offset the minor issues with having immobilizers on US bikes, charcoal canisters on all bikes and the miles/kms switch over on all bikes.
As far as the U.S. converting to the metric system, I'm not holding my breath. Those in charge, read older people are generally the decision makers and very set in their ways. I'm older (69) so I'm not having a dig at the older generation.
