Sad day! Despite me saving for this bike for a year and a half, due to a major change in my financial situation, I won't be able to take delivery of my 2012 Yamaha Super Ténéré. This is a blue one. I would like to find someone else to take my slot. As everyone knows, the bikes will be showing up in the next couple weeks. I'll have to wait until next year to get one.

So the situation is this; Contact Outdoor Motorsports in Helena, MT and talk to Wayne. 406-449-6595. MSRP is $13,900. Work out an out-the-door price with him and it's yours. He may require a down payment to hold your slot. Please no tire kickers. I feel bad enough that I can't buy it from him and he has to deal with another buyer, so only contact him if you are a serious buyer and ready to put money down. He is not one of the super blow-out price dealers, but is fair, will come down a bit off MSRP, and a great guy (read: don't screw with him). Ha. Besides, even if one paid the full $13,900, that is a great value for these bikes and since they were PDP program, there won't be a lot of extras available.

By the way, I have a set of Micatech V2 panniers and SW-Motech racks new-in-the-box that I'll be selling, too. I got them on the group buy so will pass along that savings. All I want out of them is my delivered cost. We can work out getting them fitted to the bike if you want them for a fly and ride.

So there is my sad tale. Below is the contact info:

Outdoor Motor sports Inc.
3654 Hwy 12E
Helena Mt. 59601
406-449-6595

Open:
Tuesday thru Friday - 9:00AM till 5:30PM
Saturday - 9:00AM till 5:00PM

Not really any reason to post these images, but just seems like I should.

Dude, for some of us, this bike replaces the one bike that we have, or had, and it provides our next chance at the thrill of riding. For you, this bike would simply add a new "wrinkle" to your riding world. It is just a thing, and you obviously have your priorities straight. We all know how much you must want to find some way to follow through with your plan to pick up this bike now, but I commend you for taking the responsible path. Looking at your blog, I can see that you continue to have great riding experiences. If only we could all learn to really appreciate what we already have in life..... Best of luck to you and yours.

Really sorry to hear this Chad. Believe me, I was at the point a couple weeks ago that I had my doubts on my SuperT as well due to some financial issues related to medical.

Good luck and please stay with us here on the Forum.

How much are you short? Maybe we can start a donation fund to help you out. I would throw into the pot to help you get your Super Tenere.

Thanks for the best wishes, guys. This is just a bump in the road and all will be fine in the future.

About a year ago, I was able to give up my IT job working for the State of Montana on my own accord while many others across the country were let go. I did that to help my wife get her Keller Williams Realty off the ground and it has been going great. They've added 30 agents in the last year. That being said, my input and assistance in the office isn't really needed anymore as it's all up and running and my time spent there isn't income generating anymore, so time to go back to a part time or full time position. Luckily, the economy hasn't hurt the real estate business here in Helena. It's booming. Since we never had the huge spike in prices (like other parts of the country or even other parts of Montana) we never had the crash. Real Estate continues to do well. We just have some unexpected expenses that really have us slammed so I'm going back to a pay check rather than self employment helping the office.

This is probably the wrong place to post it, but if anyone knows of anything, please let me know. I've been in IT for 20 years (since I was a 19 year old whipper-snapper in the military). After 6 years of service, I continued working my way up in the private sector through coding, formal testing, quality assurance, data backup and recovery and Project Management. I am not considering only IT jobs, but any position where my skills and experience are valued. I have started to look locally, but would really prefer a position where I can work remotely so it can be performed from anywhere I have broadband and telephone/cell access. Occasional travel to an office is OK, too. Just throwing that out there to start the conversation. Please feel free to PM me as appropriate. Thanks, Chad

Extremely kind but there are many folks in much worse positions than myself. If you can afford to donate, please find a worthy cause local to your community and put it there instead. Thank you, though. Extremely generous.

And don't worry, guys and gals, I'll be hanging around the forum still.

Try Johnson Controls in Montana. I work for them in Alberta and they are screaming for technical guys for the controls side and the IT background would surely help.

Chad,

I applaud you knowing your limits. Too many people nowadays would find some creative way to finance the new purchase and ultimately end up in a bad situation down the road. With that said, there will always be future opportunities when the time is right. Good things come to those who wait.

Good luck with the job hunting. I'm in IT as well and my company has been cutting IT staff for 4 straight years, with more to come. No joy here.
