After spending most of 2012 and 2013 dealing with and recovering from Health issues ( CHF, Heart Transplant, Fighting and beating Lymphoma Cancer) 2014 has Started much better and I find myself healthy again and able to focus on things other than staying alive. Namely getting back around to Farkling the S10. ::008::

First this year I built a new Garage/Shop to keep her in.

Next up after finally having a good place to work on it, Started with K-60's and a Russell Day Long seat.

Then decided to add some lighting beginning with Admore Side Case Lights and soon after PIAA Driving Lights for the front.I chose the PIAA's because I have always Liked the looks of them mounted on the factory crash bars. That's My Girl operating the brakes so you can all see them lit up. She Loves Riding with me on the bike by the way.

Next up was an Arrow Exhaust Slip-on can purchased from Ride On Adventure and our Forum's very own "Tabasco". Have to mention that trading with Ride On adventure was a great experience in customer service and support. This guy is the real deal as many of you already know, and he will be getting more of my money in the near future. Thanks Jaxon for answering my questions and letting me bend your ear for a bit. ::008::

Already have plans for more near future add ons including finishing out the exhaust with the Arrow header system, PC-V, Auto tune, and Re-Flash. After that Who knows????

This forum has been my number one go to site since it's inception and I have learned a lot from the Knowledge base provided here. Most of you are way beyond my pay scale and I am thankful to Venture for keeping it going and to the Moderators for keeping it in order.
I am Diggin the Hell out of my Dual Sport Super Adventure Touring Cruiser more than ever. ::015:: Just a couple more shots of the bike and a closing shot of my old Dog Polly giving ya'll what for ;)

Damn, son, you've had a lot on your plate. Glad to hear you're getting back up to par. That's a cute little girl, and a mighty handsome bike. My first Tenere was black, and I'm still partial to the black ones. Hang in there and keep on truckin' .. uh, bikini'. We're pulling for you. ::020:: R;

I really like the way you wired in those signals. What did you use for the rear tail signals? How are you controlling them?

ac, I got the light kit from Admore Lighting off the internet. The controller is built in the wiring and is a very easy and clean install. I like that the lights were dual colored, red and amber, so that they look good when turn signals are operating. Never hurts to be a little more visible out there. http://admorelighting.com/store/index.php?route=common/home

Sounds like it's been quite a haul for you and looks like things are now in the excellent category for you Steve, good on you man! ::012::

Working with your little helper, great for you both! ::008::

The bike is beautiful, really well done.
Love those side-case-lights, great/functional addition! Question on the side-case-lights, are they quick disconnect, or can you take the cases off the bike easily... ?

maintain course and speed. ::018::
All the Best, dean ::001::

Thanks Dean, as for the side case lights they are quick disconnect with easy to use plugs. Does require some drilling into the side cases but to me that was no big deal as I plan on keeping the bike for a long time. Very easy to install overall and the end result is what I was looking for in making more visible to the cages.

@ spklbuk.... That trip may be doable later this spring. Haven't nailed down the dates yet but will be heading east towards the Smokies and beyond. Will try to give you a heads up to see if logistics line up....

1. Do the instructions include directions on how to wire it so it is connected to the OEM turn signal switch? (I wouldn't have the first clue how to do it).
2. I assume you had to drill holes in the panniers to connect to the light bar. How big is the hole? How did you seal it up?
2. Are you able to remove the panniers now that they are wired?

Instructions Do include directions on wiring. It is pretty straight forward. It also includes all needed connectors and a drill bit for the size of the plug in connectors. Just match the kit wire colors as instructed to factory wires. The wire harness that you will tap into is located underneath the passenger seat inside that plastic cover. You have to at least partially remove the passenger grab handles to gain access under there. All the controller for flashing the brake lights and turn signals are built in to the kit wiring. No other relays or electrical is required. Give yourself plenty of room to allow for tap connectors and wrapping with tape to protect the connections.
Once under there, there are 3 wire bundles that are protective wrapped. Carefully remove or slit the wrapping taking care to not cut the wires. Its pretty easy. On the factory wires that go towards tail light and turn signals, Look for these following colored wires.

1. Right Turn Signal - Green
2. Left turn Signal - Brown
3. Common Ground - Black
4. Brake Light - Yellow
5. Tail Light - Blue

Just use the supplied tap connectors to connect with the kit wires as per instructions.

If you have the OEM side cases, because of the way they are molded and designed, there are only a couple of locations to drill for the quick disconnect plugs. The left side case is the most difficult because of the way it is molded to fit around the exhaust there is really only one place to mount it. I attempted to get some pics to illustrate.

Left side case outside view
You can see the plug located right above the metal heat shield.

Left side case inside view

This is the only place that I could see to mount the plug. Take care to make sure you drill the hole so that the inside plug housing mount flat on the inside of the case and not on that angled part of the luggage.

The right side case is easier since it is flat. Again just take care to insure you drill so it mount flat to the inside of the case.

The lights themselves are mounted with adhesive backing and requires a small hole to be drilled to allow wires to pass through. A little silicone seal around the wires after mounted to insure weather proof integrity.
Inside the case view where lights from the fixture come through. I mounted the lights right beneath the carry handles for a clean straight look and easy drilling. They fit perfectly there on the OEM cases.

Pictures of where the case light plugs come out from under the seat. Around the extra space where grab handles are mounted.

Hope this helps you to get a good install. I really like the look and function of the end product on mine.

Good Luck!

Steve,
Great posts! Looks good and posts were very informative. Only downside.. not I have to go and spend more money! Farkling is a disease.

BTW, you really have a nice shop set up there.

TNWalker - I love the quick disconnect plugs. Is that part of the admore lights package, or can you buy them separately?

The plugs and everything else were all included in the Admore kit. Very nice mod and they still are working perfectly. Glad that you found the post useful. ::003::
