haven't loaded the S10 up yet, but here is how I setup my Vstrom

Was a 4 day trip from AZ to NorCal and Northern Nevada then back. Made for a good 10 year high school reunion trip.

My Stop Sign Cargo plate has been working fantastic, even at yard sales.. ;D

Overboard bag 90L holds Sleeping bag, Tent, Chunk of Memory foam in an I-Pad bag as a pillow, camp shoes folding chair mess kit book to read lantern, Stove food and some light clothing And My Little Friend. >:D

Extra pair paints, Socks Underwear and T-shirt (for extended trips). Rain gear in side bags along with two cans of Isobutane if I am going for more than three days.

The red thing under the bag is a folding insulated cooler for food and Brew from the local stores in camping zone . ::003::

Here's a pic of my ST loaded up with gear on the Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route. LOVE my Giant Loop Great Basin bag and Holan Nomada top case.

This is it, fully loaded
Right Side pannier: Tent, sleeping bag, cot, mattress, pillow, camp light, toiletries
Left Side: clothing, heated jacked, pants an gloves, spare gloves
Top Box: Cooking equipment and food; stove, grill rack, pots, fry pan, dry food, spices, cup, knives, forks spoons and lighters
Right pannier top: Soft bag has compressor, air gauge, small tools, emergency lights
Right pannier top front: Small first aid kit
Left pannier top: Soft bag is bike cover, 12' x'12' tarp emergency blanket (foil spare flashlight and a few snack goodies
Rotopax 1 gallon fit between the pannier and the bike
Folding chair above the Rotopax and telescoping poles for the tarp on the other side
For Alaska I built a small aluminum rack to hold an additional 1 gal can

That works for a weekend or 9,000 miles Alaska and back with 20 days of camping. Like it tidy, waterproof and weight down low for balance

Mine looks the same loaded for camping or commuting to work or going for a day ride. Only difference is that the panniers and top box (Jesse) are mostly full when camping.

Camping load out is
Right Pannier:
Tool bag and all the stuff that is always there. Straps, Lemon Pledge, survival knife, toilet paper, etc.
Stove and cooking gear
Food and coffee
Heated jacket thing.

Left Pannier:
3 man tent or Warbonnet BB depending on mood and where I'm going
Clothes
Gloves
Kindle
Electronic cords and chargers

Top Box:
Big Agnes sleeping bag or down quilt stuff for hammock
Mattress pad thing
Ball cap
Whatever I throw in in the last minute.

Tank bag:
Camelback
Camera
Vaping stuff
Munchies
And all the other stuff that ends up in a tank bag.

Cleans windshields, windscreens. Polishes your tank and plastics...etc.

It's also tasty with Vodka and spices up your fish tacos!

What West said.

Lemon Pledge is the same stuff as the old Honda spray cleaner/polisher only it smells lemony fresh ;D About the very best all purpose cleaner I've ever found. And a ton cheaper than anything else too.

LP is a winner..
I also have a small spray bottle of Prestone Bug remover windshield wiper fluid.
Stuff melts the bugs off everything, just wipe them off then hit it with the lemon pledge.. ;)

Just a few weeks ago, camping in West Virginia. I've been using the same Moto-Pak GT-Roll bag for years to carry all of my camping gear. The saddlebags get packed the same for short trips or long trips: clothes/toiletries on the right, bike gear and tools on the left. Electronics and extra gloves in the Seahorse top case, and chargers and snacks in the tanks bag. The GT-Roll bag has my tent, sleeping bag (in a waterproof bag), sleeping pad, sleeping bag liner, cooking stove, etc. And the bike still handles great all loaded up.

I just read this entire thread and got some great ideas. I just purchased a S10 but also have a 12 Vstrom 650 Adv. I purchased the OEM Yamaha side cases but passed on the huge top case. I am thinking of getting a Wolfman Dry Duffel to strap over the massive rear platform/rack.

Here is my Vstrom setup in Rivière-du-Loup, which is NE of Quebec.
