Snagged a shorty screen (Cee Bailey's, I think) from a fellow member here this week. I was toying with the idea of a shorter screen in warm weather, so this was a timely find.

Loving the look with it on the bike, and with the MadStad, it still retains a useful range of wind redirection...but proof of that will come tomorrow while I'm out for 5 hours or so. ;)

Love the airflow from my CalSci shorty in the Florida summer! And with the Madstad I've positioned it with zero buffeting, something I was never able to do with the OEM screen.

Just got the Madstad and still not good with stock screen, not much of an improvement to be honest, seems like there are other screen options out there that actually work, CalSci huh? Might look into that one just do not want to spend a fortune that might not be as good as no screen for zero cost.

I had horrible buffeting issues with the stock screen, I mean bad, like someone playing paradiddles on my head with baseball bats. No matter how I adjusted the stock screen with the Madstad I couldn't make it go away. Tried the CalSci shortie and with just a bit of experimenting with the position I had it nailed.

BTW I run a Shoei Neotec, probably the smoothest, quietest helmet I've ever run - just couldn't make it work with the stock screen. 6' 32" inseam and I run the seat flattened in the high position...

I made my own super short screen for the summer. I bought a touring screen from Cal Sci. so I took the stock Yamaha screen and cut it nearly in half. The top is even with the mounting brackets and slightly curved. Just put tape where you want to cut. Mark your line on the tape. Use a reciprical power saw with a fine blade for the cut. Sand the edge to get smooth it off and round off the edge. At highway speed the wind hits me around the lower ribs.

Looks good, which GPS mount is that?

I just got my 24" Cee Bailey and it seems to work well for me.

Touratech on the MadStad crossbar (optional). Works very well, though I do have a second MadStad crossbar in hand now to raise the GPS position a bit higher to allow for completely unobstructed viewing of the gauge cluster. Not a huge problem now, but a personal preference that $35 solves. :)

I have the same shield and mount on mine and that is what it looks like, Cee Baileys, ordered directly from them. It is the "sport" dark gray. In addition to looking good it works great!

I take that back, looking at a closeup of the original post that is different than a Cee Bailey's. Sorry!! Close, but now I see where the difference is looking at a bigger photo.
