Thanks guys! I'm waiting for the certificate to arrive from TT and then I will get it mailed off with a card to Chris. From a recent post on another thread, he has been doing some window shopping on the TT website, so this is going to work out great!!!

Thanks for doing this Rod...well deserved appreciation for the Builder of the Board that brought us all together ::020::. How else would I have met a couple of Yukonites whose territory I will explore in 2012. Amazing!

I enjoyed doing the leg work on this and doing my part as well. Chris has provided a great Forum for all of us to enjoy.

Looking forward to 2012 and the Yukon gathering!

This is my first experience with any kind of a Forum and it blows me away how a bunch of guys and girls that have not met can pull this off. Thanks Rod for all your hard work and putting me in the Christmas spirit and a Merry Christmas to all.... ::016:: ::016::

So today I opened the mailbox and there was a letter in it with the return address marked as "Colorider." Since I was informed last week to expect "something," I figured this was it. Rod also told me that I could finally go ahead and read the thread I was asked not to read (and for the record, I never did, not even a peek!).

I opened it up and I must say, I'm FLOORED. Along with a card with some nice wishes from Rod, was the gift certificate you all made possible.

It's times like these that cause great reflection. I've NEVER in my life been given such a nice gift by anybody. I hope it comes through in the way I manage the forum, but I definitely am more of a "giver" than a "receiver." It is very humbling for somebody like me to realize that there are enough folks out there who truly appreciate what I do around here enough to put together an effort to give me a gift in appreciation. That is amazing and I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. Again, very humbling.

Reading through this thread finally gave me a few chuckles, and many realizations. Among them is that if I ever need to raise funds in support of the forum, I'm appointing Rod the fund drive manager. That guy knows how to raise funds! :D

Other things that need to be made clear - there WILL be a Tenere in my garage next year! Another thing I hope comes through around here is that I may take a while, but eventually things get done. All in good time, I'm a patient man, but not that patient! :-\ The gift you all have given me will most certainly be used to help outfit it once it's here. ::008::

Among the strongest of the reasons I started this forum is to build a community, and I like to think we are off to a great start. I have a lot of great ideas on tap to help us grow as a community. MUCH more to come.

Once again, my sincere thanks to all who participated. I look forward to riding with all of you someday.

Chris

I think we all wanted to show you that we value the forum and what you do behind the green curtain to make it happen Chris. I certainly appreciate the mods efforts too, but you do the nuts and bolts of it and if you hadn't, we'd be poking around some other listserv or forum that might not be as well cared for. Thanks!

I've learned a lot here in the short time and others have too. This is one way we give back. The other is simply helping each other with the issues that come up or commiserating if we can't help. Or poking fun! Both at ourselves and each other. Sometimes a good laugh helps us to deal with the frustration of a problem in the garage too.

Cheers to you, and to Rod for being the bank and chief cheerleader of this campaign.

My "forum" days go back many years, all starting with motorcycles. Even some history way back when before there really were forums! This forum has been my favorite EVER and I feel very close to everyone here - just like family. Sure, as with any forum, we have a little riff every now and then, but that's normal as it is often difficult to really catch the true meaning in many of the off-hand comments that just happen when communicating in cyber land.

Chris has done such a great job of putting all this together and I'm glad we were able to give some of that back via the gift. It's great to hear that a SuperT is on the horizon for him and that what we and TT were able to do will help to personalize his future bike.

Thanks again to everyone that made this happen!!

Rod

Well, I couldn't decide to be serious or a smart ass. I guess I'll be serious. I donated ALL of the money for the gift certificate. OK .. KIDDING> Boy, you guys won't let me get away with anything.

Chris ... well done. You have performed magnificently (I think Bradley said that to Patton) putting together and maintaining this Forum. I know, old news, but needs to be said once in a while. It is a stellar achievement and you should take a great deal of pride in that. I'm really glad I found it, and all of you have made me feel a part of it.

Rod .... great job in getting this organized and following through. This is the payoff. You did good, even if you DO ride a blue bike.

Good on you both. All the best, and let's be doing something very similar this time next year. Hope every single member of the Forum has a mighty good one, and are all around next year so we can do it all over again.

Thanks again to you both. R ::008:: ::026:: ::012:: ::012:: ::26:: ::001:: ::015:: ::014:: ::013:: ::020::

Chris, you mentioned "community" in your reponse and I want to thank for your effort to build the community on this forum. This forum got me through the waiting period, created a lot of great comments and wish lists and I have learned a lot from others as we share technical informaiotn and fun perspectives. There are not thanks big enough for doing the work that keeps us together. Have a great Christmas ::016::

 Darnit, from reading the title I thought it was some kind of silly humor, so I never clicked on thread :-[

I'm a little late to the show, but yes, it's all about community. Otherwise the bikes would be enough and we'd all be going our own way.

You've done a great job with the forum, Chris. Thanks!
