I seemed to notice the forward lean more in the high position, but still noticed it in the low position as well. I think the grippy seat amplifies this as well. Normally you would slide forward, but the grip sort of makes my pants bunch up as my body moves forward.

I have the seat in low position...don't feel the tilt.

I'm going to try the Alaska sheepskin route...and hope Corbin comes out with a custom seat..I may try Russel, but don't want to be without a seat that long...Corbin doesn't sound likely soon.

No joy from Spencer for now:

Rich,

Unfortunately I do not yet have any experience with (or have even seen) the Super Tenere and unless I have at least handled a seat and preferably test ridden the bike I cannot even offer any opinion as to it's potential so do not accept it for modification. There are just too many variables and unknowns in their construction to be able to have a reasonable expectation of success. Hopefully Yamaha will have the bike at the dealer/vendor meeting at Daytona's Biketoberfest so I can see it in person and ride one myself but until that time I am sorry I cannot help but appreciate the inquiry.

Ride safe, Spencer

I have had excellent results with Sargent World Sport seats on several bikes, including the ST1300 and KLR650 that I sold to get my Super Ten. I think the Sargent on my 08 KLR was the most comfortable seat I have ever had. I just now sent an email to Sargent recommending that they look into developing a World Sport seat for our new bikes. I worked with them back in 1998 on such a seat for the VTR1000F Super Hawk and I still ahve that seat on it and it beats the heck out of anything else I had on it, including Corbin.

If anybody is near Jacksonville, FL, you might drop by and let them take a look at your bike seat.

If they don't make a World Sport seat for the Super Ten, I willl send my seat in this winter and have them put in their Super Cell foam in a more level contour and recover it in something less grippy.

BTW, I was satisfied with the seat until I did a bit over 100 miles non stop yesterday. In the meantime, I will keep my Alaska Leather sheepskin on it for sure.

I'm with you Fred on Sargent saddles. I had them on my ST1300, my V-Stroms, my FJR and my KLR. I'm anxious to see if they come up with a seat for the SuperT as well.

I called Sargent last week, talked to Paul, said that I was the first to express interest. He did not know that the bikes had been out in Europe for a year. Hopefully they will get one designed.

I can see myself opting for a new seat setup at some point in time......but having done 6 hours plus racing on a bicycle seat for 100 miles +, the stock seat isn't bad to start with...... :)

300+ mile ride yesterday, my ass was killing me. Planning a 4K mile trip in less than 2 weeks. I'm going to try to get used to this seat before then. I did SpeedStar's mod this evening. Not sure it's going to make a positive difference or not. Glad to have another option, thanks SpeedStar.

I sent an email to Corbin today via their web site asking them to make a seat for our bikes. I have never tried Sargent before, but it sounds like you all have had good luck. Might have to see who gets to the market first!

So far, me and the seat are not BFF's. :(

All this is probably amplified by the fact that I came off a Corbin on my DL1000 which was very firm, nice and wide, and had a bit of a back lip to it.
Yes - about the same for me, coming off a Corbin/Vee.

I'm waiting for the Corbin...but to cover my butt in the meantime, I bought the Alaska Sheep Fredz was talking about...Dirt Dad, maybe that is a good short term fix for your 4k trip coming up?

Maybe. I have one of those and will be bringing it. Also have an Air Hawk that I may try if needed.

I had a Sargent on my FJR and have a Corbin on my Street Triple. I'm happy with both. I also have an Airhawk cushion that should fit perfectly on the S10. It's the 14 X 14 "medium cruiser".

Coming off Corbins on my FJ and my FJR. This one seems OK but I it's hot and too sticky. I am planning to drop it to the low position and throw my BeadRider beads on it and see what goes. Have a long ride leaving August 20. My azz is either gonna fall off or the beads are gojng to prove themselves again.

Riding with the seat in the high position is the most comfortable way I've found to ride the bike. I got the forward lean in the low position, which lead to my hands falling asleep from the extra pressure on my wrist. I'm preparing for a 6k trip myself and hope that on extended rides comfort is not an issue. I have an airhawk, but would rather leave it on the hog if possible. I did some research on seats today and have come up w/ a zero so far.
