While out doing some errands earlier this morning I saw this parked in the used bike section at a local BMW,
Ducati dealership. They are asking $10,500. Apparently someone felt the need to Streetfighterize a '17 S10 ES.
Not quite sure if I like it or not:

Well that’s something different  ,
Maybe I’m just narrow minded.

It's a '17ES. As much as I love mine. . . . and as versatile as she is. . . . not the right tool for the job. I'm thinkin' Jlq may be right. 'Cuz the side panels look aftermarket, along with the front fairing.

Kinda always though S10 would make a good ratty street fighter, it’s got great stance and presence for it and sounds right too.

That one, the tail needs chopping at back of seat, higher/shorter/different front mudguard aka fender ;) , more aggressive headlamp, maybe less shiny and more matt, then it would look meaner and a bit more street fighter I think.

Like the concept tho

Could never understand why they didn’t make a few other models based around the 1200 twin. It’s not like BMW don’t show the rest the way. TDM1200, Bulldog 1200 and an XT1200 supermoto? All easily possible based on the running gear. I know none would sell in great numbers, but the combined total would easily exceed how few XTs seem to have sold.

During our recent hot and humid spell I removed my windshield, adjusting bracket, and hand protection to get more airflow. That it does, and I'm kinda liking the look too. The windshield supports look a bit goofy but given the cost of replacing stay 1 i won't 20210705_153700.jpgbe hacksawing them off.

I'm not taking my handguards off. We have too many bugs. And, my windshield is staying too. . . . I ride too fast, too often.

We have bugs too, and getting a few up my open sleeves but so far no stings. And with no wimpshield I find the extra wind pressure and noise actually makes me ride slower, a good thing since on July 1 Ontario introduced new stiffer penalties for fast driving, 25 mph (down from 31) over the limit is roadside license suspension and vehicle impoundment for 14 days (up from 7) and after your court appearance your license is suspended between 1-3 years up to permanently depending on your past history.

Jesus, I got pulled over for going nearly twice the limit last month (110mph in a 65) Officer literally said, "slow down a bit, have a nice day", and let me go without even a written warning. They'd probably throw me under the jail up that way!

Ok. . . . so as much as I'd like to meet y'all from the great white north . . . . I think it'd be better if y'all come down here. . . . for me at least. And, as a bonus, y'all can get all your speeding out of your system(s). The wife and I were going to Razzoo's (google that restaurant and be jealous) tonight. My cruise was set at 79mph in a 70 zone. I was the slowest one on the road. . . . by a lot.

Side cowlings and panels are not aftermarket, they are stock but painted a gloss black.
Front fairing is an aftermarket, generic Streetfighter fairing / headlight.
The front tire is a Bridgestone Battle Wing and the rear is a Mitas or Heidenau.
The rear fender / license plate bracket is chopped off and a fabbed
MX style rear fender was there with the tail light relocated within. There was some
sort of rear facing camera installed right near the rear brake fluid reservoir.
Someone put thought into the transformation of this S10 but the execution was kind of
amateurish.

Couldn’t you just put it out of its misery?
It’s mutilated for life and at a BMW dealership, poor thing.

I'd like to build a lightweight super t. No fairings, minimalist dash. Kind of like guys who build airhead dirt bikes.

Not sure how much i could realistically reduce the weight by. I'd still want to at least be able to hang soft bags off the back

I do not think you will lose many kg, the worst part of the S10 is taken by the chassis and the rear arm ... comparing it with other lighter ones
