Doh!!! Too late for me. Had the AT been out 3-4 months ago... it is very likely that it would have replaced Fancy as my TAT bike. Although, I must admit the smaller Tenere that is "rumored" to be coming might be an even better fit in the stable - right between Fancy and whatever "little" bike I have.
Hi trikepilot,

Yes, you and Patrick450 came to my mind immediately after I rode the AT. You guys do amazing things off road with the S10 and I think you would find that kind of riding easier and perhaps more fun with the AT.

Compared to the tenere it looks very short and tight in the cockpit, unlike the tenere, which is what I really like, just like my KLR, I can stretch out when needed

I saw one yesterday and i immediately noriced how "budget" the AT looks. Does not have the same finish as my S10.

And by "finish" I can only imagine that you are referring to the thoroughly applied coating of mud and debris that a bike like this begs for?

Ya'll naysayers still have not yet talked me out of a test ride. While Fancy checks most all the boxes, I do lust for a more "svelte" big ADV bike for the stable.

Cosmic it doesn't look to big with you on it. Probably you ;D Wonder what the Tenere looks like next to it? I'm holding out for the XT700 and hopefully there will be a big enough difference between the Tenere's to keep both. 1200 for long trips (Alaska) 700 for BDRs and roughing it up not single track rough but Patrick Arkansas rough maybe TAT bike. The AT could be both of those bikes but I already own the 10.

No man, in Europe, due to EU directive BS all new bikes have to accommodate 'vertically challenged' individuals, so they do not feel discriminated against, so new machines have a 20% scale reduction from those found in the US. ::015::

I'll bet this becomes the "go to" bike for European police for the next decade.

By finish i mean the coatings on engine parts look like they'll flake off in less than a year, its all the little details that don't look as high quality as on he S10. Will they last, probably so it is a Honda, but it's "finished" more like a ninja 250 than a cbr1000r.

Rode an Africa Twin today, well last week actually and several times while deciding between it and the ST10, very different bikes, the AT is much lighter, faster off the mark, wouldn't be surprised if it was capable of lifting the front wheel in 2nd gear, its not as refined as the ST10 either, id prefer the ST10 out on the open road, thought there was more feel to it as well as being more powerful, then there's the shaft and all the extras which come as standard like the center stand for example, would I buy an AT, damn right I would and I might yet, both very desirable but would buying two new bikes in the same months be a bit of an overkill..... ::26::

That's my point... It is small, and seat Is too low.
I'm 6'4" so not exceptionally tall. What it may look like a belly, it's just the jacket. :D

I think I have a pic somewhere from a French Web site, but that's irrelevant unless you sit on it. I was truly disappointed.

Unbelievably, there is a brand new silver AT for sale with only 20 miles on it!!! The owner seems to have purchased without trying it first, and it has the DCT which he found is not to his taste.

That is one EXPENSIVE mistake!!!

I see this all the time, brand new low-mileage bike, owned only a matter of days in many cases, for sale with reasons like "bought a house", "had a baby", "got married, bike has to go", etc. Makes one wonder.....

There is no way I would ride a manual if DCT was available, and if the AT had a shaft drive it would be bye bye S10, without even a thought.

He's still going to loose money unless his +$600 price includes sales tax, licensing and delivery. If so the buyer will have to pay sales tax again when he/she registers it.
