Amateur Mod time here.
One of the first things I did was remove the passenger seat when I got the Tenere home. Wasn't it cool how Yamaha designed the under-seat space to make a level platform? However, that plastic surface isn't holding up so well , really getting rough looking with the gray plastic wearing unevenly. I carry a dry bag back there, so when I'm travelling you don't see it. Thought I'd put some of my left over aluminum parking lot signs to good use by making a better looking platform to set the luggage on. I found a piece of textured thick black plastic that is used as a shipping pallet liner for computer switches - Thanks Cisco - it matches my bike seat nicely. Whole project cost = $7.95 for the can of contact adhesive. Bragging about a cheap @## project is not something you'll find on the BMW forum.... ::025:: I'm pleased, but I usually have low expectations.
