I think the consensus has been if using the bars only, you are fine. If you use a riser with this and the bars, you will beed to extend cables.

The Raptors have been mounted on 1" up and 1" back Rox Risers for at least 20,000 miles. I did remove the bolts for the hard lines which gives a little more slack. I will add extended lines when i add the 2" Rox Risers.

Holy man! You must be approaching "ape hanger" territory!

Helped put the bars on dan 650's bike no need for longer lines in the stock bar clamps.

I am still uncomfortable which makes me consider selling it. I am a normal 6' 32" inseam rider. Standing on my lowered pegs my arms are straight down. Sitting on the lower position my arms are stretched forward and down. Plus I lean forward with too much hand weight on the handlebars. If you can call a KLR comfortable my 2005 KLR is very comfortable. Bent elbow comfortable. I am looking forward to the FZ-09 for a short distance non-camping trips.

6'1"
2" Roxy rockers
15degree Flex bars
Extended lines
Seat in high position.

Perfect ergos sittin AND standing

The KLR collects dust, except I loan it out.

I'm in the process of putting Raptors on my bike right now. I'd say they are about 1" taller than stock, but with a lot less sweep. The cables seem to fit just fine. No binding.

I destroyed one of my Symtec grip heaters removing it from the old bar. I'm waiting for the replacement before I put the grips back on and take it for a spin.

Install / Remove throttle (grips heated) when the bars are not mounted. This goes for any handlebars. Some of us learn the difficult way.
