.... Looking good. If I may post a pic of my 98 VTR1000. I love this bike and bought it new ...
That's a nice bike fredz43. You've looked after her. What kind of mileage have you done. Have you had many problems with it? Mine is showing her age but suits the purpose for which I bought it. I love the motor in this thing but then I'm a V twin fan anyway. I was intending to just run it into the ground but having lived with it a while I might do a complete restoration. Great size and character 8)

Thanks, Swagger,

Like you, I love V twins and this is a wondeful one. I have about 21,000 miles on it and have not had any problems. I recently swapped out the CCT's as a preventative measure. I have a Fox shock and had the forks revalved and rebuilt. Spent a few $$ on bling with having the rims chromed and as you see, a few other items that suit my taste. I actually bought this bike twice, once when it was new in April 1998 and then sold it to a mate in 2000 when I bought the then new RC51, which was like a VTR1000 on steroids and great on track days on while riding good twisty roads, but in the end, just not as much fun as the VTR for everyday riding. When I sold it, I told my friend that if he ever sold it, give me the first chance and about 2003 he called me and said he was downsizing his fleet and would consider selling the VTR. I drove the 300 miles to his home the next day and brought it home. I use it for an occasional track day or riding a few Ozark twisties, or just a pleasureable short jaunt around home, as I have had a few ST1300's and KLR 650's for most of my riding. My wife even said she was glad I bought it back, as she had always liked the look and sound of it, and I agree. It is back home now and here it will stay.
